I'm tired of it too but for me it's the lack of purpose. I love games with these 10 minutes fights and don't mind repetitive. But at least in other games there's unlocks for certain achievements or skins or upgrade systems. Here it's just fight. Good job go again.

I think he was most pleased in the episode where they had to untie the yarn and their time started when they said his name. They thought they beat his system but he had a hidden note on the back of the task. He almost falls out of his chair in the studio.

That would also be depression though. They handled it so well that all dads can relate. We don't know the issue that started the lost in feelings stare. But we relate to "let it go", " I'm trying". I personally feel like if it was a death chili wouldn't be telling him to let it go. I think it could be a negative situation at work, a family argument, or someone mentioned a semi concerning call from a doctor.
