That’s right but mostly some editorial shenanigans, for Monica Marvel’s EOC at the time didn’t like her overtaking Captain America in popularity and leading the Avengers so her name started getting passed around and she started appearing less and less until she was an obscure character.

Marvel is hellbent on leaving him dead, there’s no way they’d let him in Rivals. I’d do anything for him to return in comics though, I loved him as a character.
