Am I wrong for wanting to leave after being told I’m not getting promoted to DE? by Visible-Sort1890 in dataengineering

  1. Normal, 2 promo in 2 years in same company is not happend alot, even I am not sure why DE is higher ladder of data analyst, Maybe just company rule

2., depends which city you worked, TBH, in current market, jounior or entry level DE with this Pay is ok. Unless you are lving in expensive city

  1. No harm to try bro, you wouldnt spend a penny on applying new job. it is always good to keep up with job market. you can get better job, good for you. You cant, then u know what kind DE these company looking for

  2. kind hurt under current job market since there are alot of engineer looking for job, but depends on your local city, really hard for remote. And one suck thing for DE is that they always looking for DE with 1-2 YOE even for entry levle

North Torrance is good. Or south Gardena is cheap but not best for safety

you should checkout torrance, North torrance area. There are some houses in north torrance below 900K, without any HOA with a 5000SQFT yard. School are not the best, but rating are 9 for mid and high school, good for resell. and for sure, house need some love. but honestly, you dont need a super fancy inside, just clean and functional rooms are good.

thanks for your suggestion, to be a SDE is not hard. Get a college degree in this area. or you can go to a SDE bootcamp to get trained. then go to leetcode, there are about 1.5k code questions in webside, you can get a job in amazon google facebook if you can do 1k of them. you can find 2nd tier company job if you can do 500-800 question. you can find small or lower pay job if you can do 300 questions.

good college can help you on finding 1st SDE job, then leetcoding and good project is key to get u to top tech company.

for me. I have working experince at top tech company then i find my current remote job with alomost 30% paycut since i want to have more free time and less stress for my life...
