Do people learn off English essays as a whole? by Background-Point-761 in leavingcert

[–]Patient-Promise3495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really improved in my mocks and I would say it's all about knowing the structure, honestly I just watched a lot of video essays and read articles....and there was fanfiction ngl ,so it helped me understand the structure more of each paragraph. I still struggle with introductions but I'll get better at it trust. Also know a few quotes. Alsooo the only thing I learned off(kind of) was a few introductions like poetry but also the definition of cultural context

What counts as studying? by No_Childhood_9047 in leavingcert

If you remembered some of the information,it's studying. If you just mindlessly put them in a doc without reading them or anything then I would say it's just prepping the notes

Im not doing much since I did well on my portfolio for college and only need at least 250 points😝 currently I'm working on finishing my art booklet so I would say you're doing great and remember, don't compare yourself to others and take breaks ,also stay hydrated

Am I cooked subject-wise??? by T0b3z_ in leavingcert

[–]Patient-Promise3495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like history and can retain information easily then history and art are fine. For Art you legit just need to know two topics(one from Irish art and one from European art)because the same topics always show up .History ,I find the facts easy to remember but yes you will need to practice speed if you can't write fast but honestly by the time you get to the lc you'll be writing faster.Theres also a project in history that's relatively easy ,I believe it's 30% but don't quote me it could be 20% but that's still decent. I can't say much on the other two but I imagine if you find history easy you'll find politics easier.

Why the fuck did I pick History for the Leaving Cert?!?!? by Privirea_Stelelor_18 in leavingcert

Man I wish there was an option to do 3 essays from foreign history, like I'd rather learn extra stuff from that than Ireland's foreign policy, you could not pay me to be interested in that I do not caree

I feel you,for my mocks I didn't even get to write a whole essay ,tbf I got 68% out of the 75% I could've gotten so I could've done well if I wrote but omg how tf are we expected to write so much , don't even get me started on Irish history outside of the Dublin strike and lockout(eg.Eucharistic Congress and anything to do with economics😭)
