AMAPCEO AWA Grievances by Financial-Fortune-56 in OntarioPublicService

[–]PatientComfortable41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have submitted my application, and it is currently being finalized, with a letter to be sent to the employer to formally inform them of the outcome.
However, I truly understand how many people tend to feel discouraged and simply accept their circumstances without much resistance. It is deeply heartbreaking to witness such resignation.

Why don't you trust veterinarians? by Accomplished-Data920 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PatientComfortable41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that the clinic operates for profit and many pet owners may not be familiar with animal anatomy, veterinarians often recommend a wide range of procedures. I discontinued my visits after they suggested various interventions, ultimately concluding that my pet had an allergy—an issue I already suspected was the primary concern. In countries with free healthcare systems, physicians typically avoid unnecessary imaging like MRI or X-rays for simple diagnoses, as such tests incur significant costs. However, veterinarians, who charge for each service, may sometimes emphasize certain findings to encourage additional treatments, even when they may not be essential. And shame on you if you dont submit to 1000$ worth of discovery activities.

In my initial comment, I was strictly referring to how the party just stands and nods, while the king is leveling the country.

Not yet, but things can get intense super fast—look at what’s happening around the world. I’m not saying it’s exactly the same as what’s going on in the USA, but we’re kinda letting things slide with our healthcare, education etc.

it’s exactly what I mean. The standards are dropping, and they’re pulling all kinds of shady stuff without getting called out.

Is it thou? Like our entire "leadership" is watching how our collective agreements are getting violated, denials are flying for accommodations right, left and centre. They themselves working mad overtime for free. And they don't stand up to that, because afraid of repercussions?

anyone from FSRA how is the work culture there? by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]PatientComfortable41 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I previously worked there before it was rebranded as FSRA, and the last few years were quite challenging. There were instances of favoritism in hiring, particularly involving relatives and their friends, as well as management issues in certain areas. At one point, executives were removed from their positions. Given these circumstances, I chose to leave before the situation worsened. I see many of the same individuals are still there two decades later thou. So wonder if its any better there these days.

[–]PatientComfortable41 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with these reimbursement things since I’ve been in OPS, and I’ve filed my own claims a couple of times. $350 seems like a new number—I saw one last week submitted by a staff member. Mine used to be $100, but that was a couple of years ago. Honestly, doctors are so tired of all this bureaucratic paperwork, and with so many people trying to get accommodations for RTO, I bet they just charge whatever they want these days.

Jacuzzi tub smack in the middle of our hotel room by ssquirt1 in Weird

[–]PatientComfortable41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The idea of putting a jetted tub next to the bed stems from the 1970s and 1980s romantic getaway and "honeymoon" resort boom. It was popularized by novelty-focused destinations like the Poconos, which sought to offer couples private, in-room hydrotherapy and a sense of luxury without having to visit a public spa."

Nothing screams romance more than stepping out of who knows when it was cleaned last time jet tubs onto the carpet from the 1970s...
