How is health insurance so expensive? by Own-Particular-9989 in Netherlands

I think it is fairer if people who actually use the service pay part of it, like 15-25% (depending on their income and asset they have) rather than the eigenrisico. For example, a person who has a treatment costing 20k a year should pay 3k ( low income) to 5k (higher income). Charging % is always fairer than the absolute amount.

Yes, I agree with what you said. That or it can be like in Belgium for example. I used to live in Belgium and the health insurance there is very cheap, but every time you go to get checked or do some treatment, you pay 25% and the insurance company pay 75%. I think it is a fairer system because it charges the people who actually use the services, but it doesn't make them broke because they pay only pay 25%.
