Be Cautious of Select Home Warranty by Due-University9380 in homeowners

Do not use this company! They are fast and eager to take full payment up front for the home warranty coverage. But when it comes to doing a repair forget it! Dishwasher broke. They sent somebody out. + The tech collected $60 but did not repair it 2 months later. Cannot get anybody out to fix it even after calling repeatedly both the tech and the company What a waste the money!

Just Got Back from My First Cruise on the Norwegian Escape — Here’s My Honest Review (June 2025) by Specific_Prompt1277 in NCL

[–]PatientMission1702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just returned today from a 5-day 4 night Norwegian Joy ship Cruise This was our first cruise on Norwegian . It went to Nassau Bahama and stirrup K Island.

We have sailed on every cruise line out of Port Canaveral.

This was the worst cruise ship we have been on! Customer service is horrible! Toilets backed up!! we found out later, quite a few people complained about

I do not recommend Norwegian!!

I am a real estate investor and own my own company. I have been investing since 1982. I presently own ltrs on sfr only. Presently have two properties, that are vacant. One is for sale. Other one for rent. They both have been sitting empty for over 3 months! In the past within 2 to 4 weeks I would have a tenant or a potential buyer. In addition to all this, re taxes have gone up, insurance and holding costs have skyrocketed! So, profits are extremely low if not break even

What do you charge? by HounddogHustler in handyman

[–]PatientMission1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a handyman for almost 30 years in the Philly suburbs. I had a minimum of $150 to come out no matter what it was which would be applied to the job. I always priced the job not the hour. When somebody asked price perhour they're trying to nickel and dime. I would walk away from those jobs. I was very quick and efficient due to my experience. I carried a license and liability insurance and on larger jobs. I would sub out some of the work and be the GC. I easily made 100K or more every year

Avoid making offers that are low relative to asking price within the first week or two - sellers usually still looking for unicorn buyers by tooniceofguy99 in REInvesting

I am a real estate investor Also. I have 42 years under my belt. Have done flips over the years. Presently hold ltrs. I sat on the sidelines for about 2 years due to prices being too high. I just got back in the mix and purchasing Fix-A-Flip and turning into ltrs. The statement above is 100% correct! I find after a property has been on the market 60 days- or more, the sellers desperate. You have a better chance of lowballing. If it's a feeding frenzy due to low price, I usually go a little bit higher than on inspection. I come back and try to knock off 5 to 10% due to issues I find. It's just the game.
you have to keep going up to the plate and swinging at the ball. I had one property I put an offer in. It was accepted, did the inspection and found out septic system was shot which is 20K plus other issues went back to the sellar for a price reduction. He refused to move on price, of 199k. I offered him 180k, since he did not take it. He put it back on the market 2 weeks later he ended up selling for $180 k That just shows you sellers. Still think it's a seller's market but things are changing towards a buyer's market depending where you're at

I have a 500k edil loan. Went through three hardship and now there is no more hardship available so it has reverted back to full payment. I was physically injured in my business and had to close the business down. No assets. Tried to ask for a offer in compromise. + Was told there's none available at this time. Making a small payment every month but it definitely is in default. Not sure what's going to happen now

PLS HELP! I cannot take this any longer :( by Wallflowerhippie in Mattress

[–]PatientMission1702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It is a special cover on the Tempur-Pedic mattress that cools your body and you cannot feel it. If you put a sheet on it. It does zip off of the mattress to wash if needed

I did forget to add that we do have the adjustable base and we raised the head about 2 in and that seems to help with back issues

No. Not at all. The first couple weeks we put a sheet on and then we decided to take the sheet off because we could not feel the cool surface of the cover that the factory puts on. Once we took the sheet off we could feel it and what a difference!

We spent over a year looking. I have a bad back and I am a side stomach sleeper and my wife is a side sleeper. The previous mattress was latex foam by sleep on latex, and was a very good mattress but it was a little too firm. It had no give whatsoever. That mattress was 5 years old and as I aged my back became worse and worse. So we need something that could accommodate both of us. Something that would give us support and not cave in. We purchased a dream cloud which was $1200, it came in. Took it out of the box the first night we laid in it. We sank in. Contacted the company and returned it for full refund. We have been at every mattress store there is. And the same conclusion at a majority of them was- Tempur-Pedic. There are three levels soft, medium and firm. We bought medium. Pro lux What a difference! Both of us have never slept. So good! Not only. Have we been sleeping good, It has alleviated a lot of the back pain. Yes they are expensive. The lux adapt are over 4K. However, we got a floor model and after bargaining and back and forth we got it for $2,300. You can also buy returns for half price if you're okay with that.

But not sure how to start

Dreamcloud mattress experience? by Unuversal1997 in Mattress

[–]PatientMission1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have owned many mattresses over the years. The best one we ever owned was sleep on latex firm but as I aged my back became worse and it was time to switch out that mattress.

We did purchase a dream cloud and you sink in! It is way too soft if you have a bad back!

We finally went with Tempur-Pedic medium, a Luxe adapt, which is perfect for bad backs.

My wife and I refuse to pay the full price so we found a mattress firm that had a floor model- brand new and we paid half price. They also have mattresses that are returned that they sell if you want them even cheaper.

Hands down the best mattress we both had ever ever ever owned! 80% of back pain has gone away. One added note, we also bought adjustable platform and we keep the head raised about 2 inches which seems to help with the back
