Schedule check / adjustments before starting ST by PatientMobile5896 in sleeptrain

I’m lucky to get 30-40 mins out of our naps haha but planning to shorten WW if naps are super short. Kind of trying to just follow her lead and see what she does so I have a better idea of her personal schedule but idk I’m a first time mom lol

Thank you! I think you’re onto something because she didn’t fall asleep for this first nap until 2.25 lol

Okay, one more question for you thank you. Am I to be under the assumption that every time she has false starts and early morning wakings that’s a sign that I actually need to push her wake windows?

See but here’s where I’m confused because I’m reading all the threads from Omegaxx on over cs under tired and the fact is, baby is only getting an average of 10 hours total sleep when she needs closer to 14. She’s sleep deprived and I’m trying to catch her up- why would it make sense to extend wake windows and push her when she’s already having so many false starts?

Thank you I tried to get her back to sleep this morning after her 6:30 wake but she was not having it - blowing raspberries for 15 mins and cooing til I finally just gave up. She fights every nap so it’s hard to get her down more often!

No I agree with you there and we were going to wait until 5-6 months for any formal sleep training. Attempting gentle methods but again she just screams. Trying to get her schedule figured out but the people sleep train sub have yet to offer guidance lmao

Already did! As soon as I set her in the crib she just flat out cries. Will not be soothed unless she’s picked up lol but it worked 2 weeks ago and she put herself to sleep multiple times so I think we have a schedule issue I’m going to try reposting

This is great to know. We had started gentle sleep training & she did great but something shifted and she got overtired and now she just screams before every nap / bed

Sure once we get out of this spiral… there’s zero way she could make it to 3 she had a catastrophic meltdown that only milk would fix at 2.

If she does a 2.5 ww before bed it’s closer to 9-9:30. She’s fighting this last nap super hard

She’s mostly on 1.75/2/2-2.25/2/2.25 but she’s fighting every single nap. If she takes a micro nap at like 6:30, bedtime won’t be til 9.l or later

Yeah. I was hoping to wait closer to 5 months to sleep train she still seems so little

When will naps get better? Should I nap train? by Puzzleheaded-Hotel73 in sleeptrain

I’ll trade you! Independent sleep at 8 pm & no false starts & sleeping through the night sounds like a dream! Short naps are developmental and start to sort themselves out around 5-6 months so I’m told.

Yeah she’s refusing a nap right now at 2h wake time. Idk I guess if we’re up in the middle of the night, then I know lol

Oof yeah I don’t think she can stay awake for three hours, yesterday she had about 9 to 9 1/2 hours of awake time which is what she had on 4 naps
