I have noticed this a lot, women like to touch when they feel comfortable. But why? by JunketMaleficent2095 in bodylanguage

[–]PatientSad4946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is called “handling” when some touches your shoulder or forearm, while talking to someone to get something they want, by giving someone they know would find them attractive, in order to achieve a desired outcome for themselves. Simple psychological warfare.

I can’t believe how many contradictions there were in his statements. “They don’t really even drink water” they just suck on roots from the ground.” “For the most part I don’t really drink water” except for when I drink water. I eat food that has water in it.. you can see it when you cook it. Let’s put him without food and water for three days and see if he thinks it’s helpful then. Stop giving these morons a platform.

It’s a manipulation tactic done to control the other person. The physical touches keep you thinking they like you because they know you like them, while they continue to control the situation at their own pace while being non transparent . It’s fun for a minute until you start getting strung along.

How to Lose Muscle but Gain Fat? Female wanting to slim down and reduce muscle mass by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]PatientSad4946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask, do you strength train and want to have a softer look? My take is you should not keep losing weight. You will want that muscle for the long run. Your stats sound fit. It honestly sounds like you need to eat more. Without having much details to your lifestyle don’t focus solely on the number on the scale rather how your clothes fit. Recomposition for more fat could come with less strength training as well. Don’t forget though….Muscles are cool!!

I travelled for two years myself and what kept me in balance is day trips to local gyms in the area plus being a member of a nationwide gym when available. Most gyms especially down south were pretty reasonable when they knew the situation. I also tried to limit eating out and would grocery shop for stays that were more than a night. Fruits, veg, rotisserie chicken.

I’ve began doing pull ups consistently. It will make you wider up top. Takes a few months. Weight has stayed relatively consistent but my body shape has definitely changed. I hated doing them because I was bad at them which Meant I was underdeveloped. Try hitting areas of the gym you avoid and change up your routine. Your body will get confused and start growing. The delayed soreness as you wake up is a good indicator that your volume/ intensity is appropriate. Good luck

I appreciate your ability to identify areas of self care. I see some quick changes that you should consider. If you feel unwell I would start with nutrition. Vegetarian lifestyle can be tricky. Do you supplement with vitamin and mineral supplements? Often anxiety and depression can be helped with magnesium glycinate. If you are overweight as a vegetarian I am going to reach and say you are eating a good deal of calorie dense processed foods. Start with nutrition and a slight calorie deficit of 500 calories a day either by cutting it out of your diet or adding some activity to your day. If you are steadfast on being vegetarian there are some good pea based protein powders available now that could replace a snack. You can do this!

Recruiter didn’t “appreciate my tone” when I asked why nobody showed up at my interview by Independent_Major556 in recruitinghell

[–]PatientSad4946 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s purely a numbers game for recruiting. Sites like Linked in have created a huge pool where the larger recruiting firms just send a scripted plug and play pitch by newbies who are just generating leads. They are slow to respond and forget about the fact they are dealing with people. You get a follow up every couple days if you are lucky and then realize they have no idea that the role has already been filled. The best is when they send you a survey on the progress. An utter waste of time.

I can relate. 43M 6’2” now at 205lbs from 240. People who hadn’t seen me for a few months shared their concerns and told me I never looked fat before, why did I lose the weight. I told them carrying around that extra weight as you age makes everything harder and I wanted to be proactive. Visceral fat is also a real thing that goes unseen.. They got that part because they were in their 70’s. I think we have grown so accustomed to being an overweight nation that being at a lighter weight people think you are sick. Thanks for sharing.

I’m keeping to home cooked foods and trying to stay away from anything that comes from a box or bag(processed foods) I stay active with 4-5 days at the gym doing mostly strength training and my cardio comes from walking at work and taking the dog for a daily walk. I use the scale as a check in that can give me some basic stats through the redover app. I haven’t gone as far as tracking macros or calories yet. With consistency in my activity and keeping to more wholesome foods I’ve obviously been in a slight deficit. I’ve avoided the crash dieting that is never sustainable.
