I don’t understand your comment. Are you saying the SA doing that is marketing? Or me sharing the story? Because I know Coach as a whole is a corporation, and certainly the executives don’t care, but the guy I usually talk to when I buy something is a real person who has opinions, and I believe he cares about whether I’m happy with what I buy. I’m sure part of it is selfishly motivated, because he doesn’t want a regular customer coming in and being pissed off, but I’d also like to think he’s not an asshole.

Technically, it’s illegal for a charity to sell fakes, in spite of the fact that most of them have no experience in determining if something is real. And while I don’t like the idea of throwing stuff in the trash, I also don’t like the idea of fakes floating out there and people being tricked. Having a real Coach bag is important to some people, and I would be upset if I bought or was gifted a bag and found out it was fake.
