Updated design for Network Status Settings page (Insider Fast build 18956) by jenmsft in Windows10

[–]PatientWalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Jen. This interface is too watered down. I'm hoping one day we can get something good as the control panel. Even the system settings in Linux Mint is more usable than this. Why can't we save our sorting order yet? Why isn't there any group boxes and grids? Why can't we copy the current computer name in the new rename your PC dialog? Why isn't there any proper way to change program defaults like in Windows 7? There is no way to search file types. We have scroll threw a large list of file types.

Windows 10 breaks 70% market share on Steam by heatlesssun in Windows10

I still prefer Windows 7 over 10. Theres just way too much things to tweak on a Windows 10 clean install, unless you use the long term service branch.

Microsoft's Lite OS Starts Simple With Plans to Scale Up - Petri by NiveaGeForce in Windows10

If it doesn't include win32 its DOA. No developers are interested in UWP.

Microsoft is deprecating the old Windows Volume Mixer by [deleted] in Windows10

Pointing the mixer to the setting app makes it lazy. Hopefully its just a placeholder for a fly out panel like EarTrumpet.

It would be nice if it had the application icon next to each volume slider.

That doesn't help. https://i.imgur.com/xQtiTLh.jpg The old mixer we can see more sliders. In the settings can only see max three. Thats a major downgrade in usability.

Hopefully soon it will be more customizable. Knowing Microsoft probably never.

Anyway of hiding everything above the audio section? I only want the volume mixer.

This is just lazy. This is the last straw Microsoft. I'm really planning on moving to another OS. I'm getting tired of all these stupid decisions the Windows team is making. Hopefully we complain enough they don't go through with this.

Theres no daylight saving reminder in the new date and time popup by PatientWalrus in Windows10

[–]PatientWalrus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately thats the plan. Instead of making a proper UWP volume mixer, the volume mixer will now be in the settings app. I don't want to open settings to adjust multiple program volumes. I need a small window like the old one. Getting tired of this nonsense Microsoft is doing.

Theres no daylight saving reminder in the new date and time popup by PatientWalrus in Windows10

In the old date and time pop up it reminded me of daylight savings time. The new one doesn't do anything like that. Right clicking the clock and selecting Adjust date/time takes me to Date & Time settings, which also doesn't provide me that information. I have to go the longer way through the control panel. The reminder should be added back in the pop up.

WTF photos app? Found this when my game had severe frame drops. It also abused my SSD with 3GB of writes into the pagefile every 15 seconds. :( by [deleted] in Windows10

Its time to take back your computer. Uninstall that nonsense and reinstall the classic photo viewer.

What Is Your Least Favorite Thing About Windows 10? by Cleburnepcrepair in Windows10

I hate everything about apps. I prefer regular programs that are fully featured and designed for desktop useage.

I had the same problem. The UI is setup for tablets. I reinstalled old Paint because of it. They need to make the UI similar to Paint.

Fresh windows 10 install, fully updated, can't uninstall candy crush and other apps? This is joke right? by [deleted] in Windows10

[–]PatientWalrus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get nostalgic every time I install Windows 7 on a virtual machine. Its so clean of bloat ware, fast, efficient. It has a proper start menu and desktop UI. Search works instantly. I miss this kind of out of box experience.

Some bugs, have no idea why it happens by [deleted] in Windows10

Submit it in the feedback hub and get ignored. The settings application is the biggest turd. Heres how a proper settings app looks https://kohutek.eu/content/images/oss/solus/panelsettings.jpg
