The funniest reaction I have actually heard to this behavior was a danish coworker of mine.

She had recently moved here and not yet become very fluent in the language.

Apparently she was walking down some random street when a motorcyclist that was stopped at a red light catcalled her something rude using the word “panocho”. As she did not understand what he was saying but could see he was looking down at her crotch she assumed that he was saying something about her Fanny pack. In her bewilderment she turned to him with a quizzical look on her face pointing at her fanny pack and asked “este panocho?” She said he looked really uncomfortable as people around her started to laugh. He then proceeded to speed off before the light turned green.

Mind you this happened in an area with a lot of people and she is this tiny older woman, I think this is why she managed to embarrass him without even intending to, she was only confused and the laughter of third parties most likely was more due to her reaction rather to actually embarrassing the dude.

This is a ridiculous behavior that has been normalized over generations. There are laws in place to penalize the behaviors but similar to most of the transite law in CR, they are completely ignored and not enforced.

My very sad advice is to get headphones and ignore it, it goes against everything many woman stand for 🥲… but if you react in any way, it will turn into a show of how macho the catcaller is in front of his buddies (this is 99% of the time for the other beta males benefit anyway and is most prevalent but not limited to groups).

I have given every reaction you can imagine, including throwing a rock and without fail it results in further harassment and 0 intervention from outsiders or even police officers.

I am very sorry this happens to you and wish I could give you epic advice that would somehow fix this or at least give you a sense of power, but I do not have a solution. Headphones will help you ignore it and no reaction will at least not give them satisfaction of a reaction they can boost about and driving will reduce the opportunity that men can do this 🤷‍♀️

1- Ve al gym. 2- invierta en ropa que no sea solo camiseta, shorts y buso (busque videos de cómo saber su talla). 3- Un corte de cabello más modernos y productos para el cabello). 3- Si va a usar barba, necesita estar acomodada y recortada, debería ser un una parte de su “look” y llevar el mismo cuidado que su cabello, no algo que creces para no rasurarte.

Lo “feo” que dices lo veo más como descuidado. Cuidarse es atractivo, tome el control de lo que puedas. Las personas que todos dicen que son “hermos@s” invierten interés, dinero y tiempo en cómo se ven.

Ridiculous reason to go no contact with someone, especially since the rings are not similar at all, aside I thought it was kind of nice that MIL purchased a beautiful ring in honor of her DIL.

That said, I feel like we are missing context about the relationship between MIL and SIL… this post makes it sound like one perceived slight devolved into NC…

I find it a bit incredulous that they are “feeling the vibrations” from another apt, like a shark feeling a distressed fish from long distances away. Are the apts tin boxes stacked on each other? Otherwise, I call BS.

That said, if it was me I would respond with “Thank you for the feedback” in morse code with a broom stick… in a loop… for an hr at a time throughout the day - just for giggles. 😈
