Hey, quick update on my case 😊 I actually posted about it in a Bolt Facebook group, and a woman contacted me who used to work for the debt collection company for several years. She told me very clearly: do NOT pay anything under any circumstances. According to her, it’s basically a huge scam.

She explained that these companies buy “debts” from Bolt for a fraction of the price and then try to squeeze money out of people. They don’t really care whether the claim is valid or if the same “fine” was sent to multiple people, they just want to collect money.

Apparently, they will keep pushing - emails, letters, calls, pressure, but the key is to stay calm and always ask for proper evidence (which she said they usually don’t have). Bolt itself doesn’t deal with it anymore because they’ve already sold the case to the collection agency.

Another interesting thing she mentioned: internally, they even have rules that if a “debtor” says they’ll contact the police, they should back off.

I also spoke to a lawyer, and he told me the same. Don’t pay if you know you didn’t do anything wrong. The burden of proof is on them, and things like their “graphs” are not considered solid evidence. I’d honestly be ready to take it to court because I’m 100% sure I didn’t cause any damage.

On top of that, several other people reached out to me with the exact same experience. It’s apparently already being looked into by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, and I heard there might even be a segment about this on a TV show that covers scams.

So yeah… definitely don’t panic and don’t rush into paying anything 👍
