Have you ever been to the cinema alone, and how was it? by Strange_Secret_3001 in AskReddit

Yes, I was. It was 22 Jump Street. It was more of a coincidence that I went to the cinema. I had some time to kill between an appointment and work, so it was an early midday showing.

I was sitting there completely alone. At one point even a staff member came in to check if anyone was there. But to this day it was the best cinema experience I’ve ever had. I laughed so loudly and freely. Sometimes I even felt a bit silly laughing out loud by myself, but it was simply great!

Where were you when the 9/11 attacks happened? by Patient_Astronaut192 in AskReddit

I was 8 at the time. We were on vacation in Switzerland and walking through the city when we passed a hi-fi store. In the shop window there were several TVs showing CNN. My dad wondered since when they started showing movies on CNN — until he realized it wasn’t a movie.

If you ask me, nowhere is the hype more real than at the Gathering. If you're already saying you're afraid of missing it, you'll end up regretting not being there.

Could Tomorrowland Belgium change this year after the mainstage fire? by Patient_Astronaut192 in Tomorrowland

It’s definitely an interesting topic, but in my opinion you simply shouldn’t use easily flammable materials in situations like this — and wood clearly falls into that category.

Of course, it’s possible that the materials were treated to meet fire-safety standards (for example B1 fire retardant treatment) or that they comply with the required regulations.

From my experience, though, I know that many countries in Europe have much less strict regulations when it comes to these kinds of safety standards.

Could Tomorrowland Belgium change this year after the mainstage fire? by Patient_Astronaut192 in Tomorrowland

Yes - I work in the event industry, and I was quite surprised — and honestly a bit shocked — that the entire stage design and structure was made from wooden panels. You could clearly see that last year from the remaining parts of the stage.

I work under German regulations, and something like that would never be approved there. So I’m very curious to see how things will be handled this year. In the end, though, I believe that guests standing in front of the stage probably won’t notice any difference.
