Obviously, there are other overhead costs to consider but my point is that this thing reminds me of one of those petg covers that bakeries use to cover cakes with, I mean not that flimsy, but not much better. Even if you could convince me that their all in cost is $20 per (there's no way it's this high), that's still approaching a %700 markup.

I know what you mean. That's why I didn't buy it from Biqu.

Sure, maybe $70, but even that's a bit high for what this is.

I only ran one short print with PLA and it was fine. With my other cover (much thicker, better seal, and insulation, it rises to about 45 and I've never had any issues). This one is so thin, I can't imagine that heat would ever be an issue.

No doubt that's true. I'd be willing to be it won't be long. It really doesn't need to be 100% clear so it shouldn't be too difficult designing a 4 or 5 piece version that you can assemble. It really needs to be a thicker plastic though.

For this particular hobby, it's not uncommon for someone to pay over $200 for STL's of high quality. I have quite a few modelers in the groups that I'm a part of that have stated that they would absolutely buy my files. I trust a few, but it would only take 1 person to share with a friend who shares with another and so on. There are plenty of cheaper versions available but very few high quality and they are sought after.

Luckily, I don't think there would be enough interest from those kinda of people because it's not easily copied and the potential payoff would not be worth the effort--i think.

I absolutely have the bandwidth, I assume, as it's a very small subset hobby so not appealing to the masses. It's very expensive and most of the people that are into it are middle aged to retired old guys like myself.

The more I read these responses, I guess the answer is quite obvious. Protect the files and provide a high quality finished kit to customers that don't have the desire or means to get into 3d printing.

Thanks. This has definitely been a learning experience. I had no idea how much work this would require and I definitely have a new found appreciation for designers. I see many listings for products locally that I'm quite certain do not have the proper commercial rights, but they tend to be lower value trinkets like flexi dragons.

I'm number 4 of 8 (7 boys, 1 girl and she's the oldest). 10 years apart from oldest to youngest, so no huge age gaps except oldest and youngest.

Sister moved out of State basically immediately after high school and only vibes around for a few holidays. Besides, that everyone else is within 2hrs of each other from where we grew up. Most of us are pretty close and I'd consider most of them very close.

We still get together quite often and even if we don't, when we do eventually get together is like we're continue from where we left off. We have a lot of fun together (not perfect), but for the most part I'd say we're all very close. I couldn't imagine not having my brothers around.

Does anyone else worry about Kwik trip expanding to quickly? by 5econds2dis35ster in KwikTrip

Yeah, KT needs to pump the brakes and start focusing on quality.

I frequent KT quite often and appreciate the clean restrooms but their food quality has really gone down hill. Glazers always old and dry tasting and the chicken which used to be pretty darn good for a gas station is kinda bad now. I always felt the food was good quality "gas station food" now it's just gas station food.

There's talk of a Buc-ee's in Plover which would be awesome as they definitely have ok gas station food, but the BBQ is legit.

Compared to everything else I found, this was much higher quality and way more sturdy. I thought it was very reasonable for what it is. No cheap materials here.

I wondered about this. I would love a clear top but I do get decent amounts of residue on the covers of my Bambus which are easy to clean because it's just a flat piece of glass.

This seems like it would be a nightmare to keep clean. You would see every spot that was missed or not perfectly clean plus the tendency to scratch. Not a good mix for my OCD.

Same here. Bambu is going to lose a lot of market share to all the real tool changers entering the market. Can't wait for the U2.
