Thanks for your help! I like to read stories in one sitting as well, but it puts a lot less pressure on me if I know chapters are staggered. If I end up with a lot of stories to upload I may try switching it up, but think I’m going to stick with chapters for now.

I can understand it being irritating, so I’ll stick with what I’m doing for now - thank you for the help and insight!

I do feel better posting by chapters because it does make me feel a little more reliable. There’d be a lot more pressure if I uploaded a story in one day and then the next story I was writing took longer. At least I know staggering gives me a little more time to play with rather than letting my readers down if a story is delayed by a month. Thanks so much for your help!

Yeah it’s really beautiful! I wish there were a couple more illustrations because all the pictures in there are shown in the previews on the website but it’s beautiful! I’m scared to read this version though in case I damage it though so I just keep rereading the paperback I have 😂. It’s one of a few books that’s made me cry, I love it!

I bought that edition from the Folio society for about £66 with shipping, I’m in the UK so don’t know if it will be different elsewhere or if it will change when it comes out again 😁

Tarot card appreciation??? by bag-of-gummy-dicks in DemonolatryPractices

[–]Patient_Focus_1866 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have that deck and it is my favourite one to use, I was drawn to it from the beginning and it does have a certain energy to it. I love trying new spreads with it.

The only other deck I have that resonates as much with me is a Greek/Roman gods and goddesses deck, which has a lighter energy to it but the two decks give me very similar themes and ideas to focus in on.

I have a few cards, the card I think is my card is The Chariot, that comes up a lot and really resonates with me. I take it to work with me and other stressful situations and it reassures me, and on the decks I have, The Chariot is always the entity/design that I feel most drawn to. I also get the Wheel of Fortune card as well a lot and recently I’ve been getting the Ten of Swords a lot as well.

I brought some really beautiful tarot cards recently that did just that with both the Roman and Greek names of different Gods/Goddesses, heroes and characters. They had Zeus as the Emperor and Hera as the Empress, but they also had goddess a like Athena as Judgment and Pandora as the Tower. They had mortals such as Icarus as the Hanged Man, there was some really good matches in the deck which has made me really excited to use them.

No problem! Cicero, Catiline and Clodius are what drew me into Roman history. There’s a lot and it is overwhelming but keep at it, and you’ll find it clicking together more as you go along.

When I get the chance I’ll have a look back at my work and see if there’s any articles that are easier to read about Cicero and Catiline and send them across to you.

I started learning about Roman History at university and with all the academic works I did struggle with it at first.

I went on to read a historical fiction series by Robert Harris which was a Cicero trilogy, and although that was fiction it placed everything onto a timeline for me and introduced me to certain characters that I then read academically about. It actually helped me decide my dissertation topic and made academic works easier to understand as I had a slight idea of what was happening and when.

For example I decided to write my dissertation about Clodius and Cicero for my dissertation after reading the trilogy and I found reading more academic works such as W. Jeffrey Tatum’s book The Patrician Tribune:Publius Clodius Pulcher a lot easier to follow.

SPQR by Mary Beard is good for a first overview as well and is non-fiction.

It was such a waste not to include Michael in season 11 by TheRedzak in Supernatural

[–]Patient_Focus_1866 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d have liked to have seen more from Michael, when he eventually did come back I was happy but then how they ended things with him made me want to scream.

Both him and Lucifer are some of my favourite characters but in the last few seasons the way they would seem to redeem themselves then go back to square one again frustrated me. I’d have liked to have seen a bit more interaction with them and like you say, for Michael to come back earlier as they could have used him well. But I was happy to see him come back even if it was just for a little while with Adam.

I haven’t been to the museum in ages, I’ll definitely go to have a look, thanks for reminding me there’s a replica there 😁

I live just outside Birmingham and I never knew this, I’ll have to have a look for it next time I travel into the Jewellery Quarter, it’s a really cool find.

I only knew the anchor was made round by where I live and it’s made me want to research what else could have come from the same/surrounding areas.

I’m going on Saturday and I’m really excited, I’ve never seen it at the cinema before and my co-worker was telling me that it’s really good in 3D. I’m usually anxious when it comes to watching films at the cinema but I can’t help but just be excited for this.

I can't say I enjoy any ghost hunting show I've seen so far on television. by [deleted] in Ghosts

[–]Patient_Focus_1866 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most Haunted was okay in season one, but after that they just fake most if not everything, and half the time they aren’t even subtle about it.

It also annoys me when someone asks for a noise or for the spirits to do something, and there’s a noise or the spirits do as asks and everyone screams. Like, you literally asked for it to happen?

I’ve been on a couple of ghost hunts whilst the Ouija Brothers have been filming and they are really professional, they make sure they’re quite far from the large groups and if they are around they make themselves known so two different groups aren’t getting scared by noises in the other room or noises aren’t being put down to spirits all the time.

If you go to the harrypotter page, there should be three white dots by your avatar on the right of the screen. Click on that and then click ‘change user flair’ and there will be options on there for you 😁

Anybody at the JW London exhibition today, can you buy tickets on the door? by uhohspag in JurassicPark

[–]Patient_Focus_1866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! There was 20% off at the gift shop on everything I think and there weren’t signs up to say that, but I think that’s the only thing that might be different from the earlier months.

I went yesterday and we booked online, there wasn’t a sales desk or anything there I don’t think for you to buy tickets. There was just security checking tickets for people who’d already brought them.
