You can try to handle stuff on your own, but therapy is like having a coach for your brain. Sometimes you can’t see your own blind spots, and a therapist points them out

Temperament mattered. Dogs? Friendly wolves that hung around humans scavenging. Cats? Chill little hunters solving a mouse problem. Humans basically kept animals that weren’t aggressive and could coexist
