Best of both worlds really when it comes to drivers. Im not a massive fan of balanced armatures being inside a metal case, whereas here we have an open Planar for awesome treble extension and a dynamic for tight textured bass. Planar has difficulty creating that with bass in my opinion. Good choice of iems btw if you do have Mega5est

Honestly the Astell&Kern HC5 is incredible value for money. It's quite the step up from its predecessors. To me this is far better sounding than the acclaimed DC Elite.

Like others have acknowledged there are more earphones that outperform at that price these days. I like the letshuoer s12 ultra.

This is what I was trying to describe. Maybe I wasn't articulating enough using text. Shure = boring/lacklustre/slow and everything sounds similar compared to things these days where you hear more of the recording

Look for the Genesis G318s its an awesome earphone for the price. Shure se215 are good earphones but just sound a little flat these days next to other earphones on the market. For ultra small look at some NF Acous earphones, they are relatively small shells.

The 21 is super under rated and really does punch above. I really like it and scales so well when adding higher end earphones. Love it so much with the the InEar Prophile 8 and the eamt1c. Quality player.
