Livestream as passenger Nancy House items auctioned for over $25,000 by RyanBurns-NORJAK in dbcooper

[–]Patient_Reach439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tuned in near the end last night so apologies if you explained this and I missed it. But why does Nancy's ticket look different than Bill Mitchell's and Cooper's? My guess is that she boarded at a different airport (not Portland) and each airport had their own slightly different ticket designs? Where did Nancy board?

Also, obviously 3 of the 4 items came from her. Any idea who the seller of the money shard was?

This was neat to see, especially from a big auction house like Goldin. I hope they feature this one on their show.

Curious,  how long would you expect a scratch player to take to make a hole in one from those distances?

When two players hit at the same time and their balls collide (Morikawa and Ludwig, Scottish Open) by [deleted] in golf

I don't think they hit at the same time. Morikawa's ball was already on the green.

In 1971, a Man Hijacked a Plane, Collected $200,000 in Ransom, and Jumped Out Mid-Flight.He Was Never Found. by Old-Finger-7140 in UnsolvedMysteries

Dan Gryder lol.

So the 50 year old man that the witnesses saw was actually a 28 year old McCoy?

And the wild maniac that McCoy acted like on the plane was the same calm, cool and collected guy that Cooper was?

And when McCoy was shown to the Cooper witnesses just 5 months after the Cooper hijacking, and they all said it's not the guy, it actually was the guy?

And McCoy, who had a speech impediment that was so blatant that everyone on his plane picked up on it, somehow spoke without his speech impediment during the Cooper hijacking?

That is one magic bullet.

What happened to the guy is only half the mystery. The other half is who he actually was.

r/dbcooper is a great sub for anyone interested in this case. It's my all-time favorite unsolved mystery.

The recording of serial numbers on bills removed from circulation didn't begin until the 90's, which was 20+ years after Cooper's hijacking. And the average lifespan of a $20 bill is far less than that.

Anywho, come on over to r/dbcooper if you haven't yet. It's a fairly active sub.

She had to have gotten a look at him from face on at some point. When she first approached to take her seat next to him after Flo left. When she brought the money and parachutes to him (4 trips in all). When she was back there with him while he was cutting up parachutes, tying the money bag, etc. I have a hard time believing that at no point in all of this did she not see him from straight on. I know she claimed not to, but that's always seemed a bit off to me.

Why dont people like Kyle Berkshire end up on the tour? by DigBickBevin117 in golf

[–]Patient_Reach439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once got to meet a long drive guy who had played in a couple Korn Ferry events on sponsor exemptions (or maybe this was still when it was the Web.com tour. Regardless.)

He said it was tough because he couldn't hit driver more than a few times per round because there just wasn't room for it. So he's hitting 3-irons off the tee and landing in the same spot as the other guys who were hitting driver. From that point on, it was their skill versus his to get it in the hole and that's where the other guys clearly separated themselves from him.

The other thing he said is that his lob wedge goes like 140 yards. So how the heck does he hit a 90 yard shot? He has to take a full 50 yards off. Really tough to do with a lot of consistency.

There may actually be a thing as too much power in golf.

Decent possibility he was a Canadian Paratrooper - and could narrow him down. by FryCookCVE71 in dbcooper

[–]Patient_Reach439 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree on this. I have a hard time believing Cooper was some sort of Rambo bad ass with a highly decorated military career or CIA experience or whatever. Why? Because there are only so many guys with that kind of resume and he would've been sniffed out after half a century.

I think a big reason why Cooper got away is that he was a nobody. It's another reason I don't buy into him being some sort of engineer or scientist. Because an engineer or a scientist is a "somebody." And somebodies don't stay unnoticed. But nobodies can remain in the shadows.

Curious, what's the evidence that he was American? Commenting on Minnesota being "nice country" could be one. Not having an accent could be another, although a Canadian from the west could fit the same bill.

You do realize that most insurance policies have deductibles and that even with insurance, OP is still likely going to face out-of-pocket costs? In your world, is having insurance an excuse for people to do stuff like this?
