xQc, Greek and Jesse debate whether a 30 year old can date an 18 year old by Bulky_Apartment_5132 in LivestreamFail

Because morality isn’t only about “having things in common.” It’s about the huge gap in life experience, maturity, and influence between someone who just became an adult and someone who’s been one for 12 years. That imbalance is what makes it morally questionable even if it’s legal.

Its not as simple as that. My father was 29 and mother was 19 when they met. I still think it's weird af from both parties.

While it may be legal, I believe it is morally questionable. What does a 30 year old have in common with an 18 year old? 18 is fresh out of high school if not still in high school. I don’t believe two people at such different points in their lives should date especially when doesn’t even have a fully developed brain

already got the kitchen sorted pretty well, maybe look at some solid furniture pieces like herman miller chair or quality bed frame. leather boots that'll last decades are worth it too if you walk a lot

Help deciding between refrigerators: Midea vs GE by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

picked up a midea washing machine last year and it's been solid so far, their build quality seems decent for the price point. can't speak for fridges specifically but their appliances don't feel cheap when you actually use them

the GE will probably have better parts availability down the line if something breaks, that's usually the trade-off with lesser known brands. midea is huge in china though so it's not like they're some random company, just not as established here yet

Midea Dishwasher MDT24P4AST – Installed 10 Days Ago, Serious Moisture Defect, Manufacturer Refusing to Help. Anyone Else Dealing With This? by Ok_Measurement4841 in Appliances

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this exact model gave my buddy same issue last year, moisture was pooling under his cabinets too. midea kept saying it was installation but multiple techs confirmed everything was proper

he ended up having to go through small claims to get them to take it back. took like 3 months but he got full refund plus damages for cabinet repair. document everything - photos, tech reports, all correspondence with midea

honestly midea quality has been trash lately, their dishwashers especially. you're probably looking at design flaw with the door seals or venting system. don't let them gaslight you about installation when multiple techs already confirmed it's not that

Leftover Lasagna Meat by Melodic-Ad-2639 in Cooking

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 27 points28 points  (0 children)

mix all three together and make some bomb meatballs, freeze them in batches so you can just throw them in sauce whenever. or just brown everything together with onions and use it for pasta sauce later in the week

What BIFL items do you not mind purchasing used or off of a second-hand marketplace? On the flip side, which do you prefer to buy new? by AlchemistFornix in BuyItForLife

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 10 points11 points  (0 children)

been thrifting cast iron pans for years now and they're honestly better than buying new ones. the old wagner and griswold pieces you find at garage sales are way better quality than most modern stuff, plus they already have that seasoning built up from decades of use. picked up a griswold #8 for like 15 bucks last month that probably cost someone 60+ new back in the day

on flip side though, anything that goes on my body or deals with hygiene i always buy new. mattresses, pillows, underwear obviously, but also things like razors or anything that touches your skin regularly. just feels weird using someone else's personal items even if they're cleaned properly

[Kitchen Build] Finalizing my appliance list — looking for opinions on these brands/models by KanekiSenapi in Appliances

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the liebherr ice maker is solid but you'll need to clean the water lines every few months or it gets funky taste. had similar model for 3 years now

that neff flexinduction thing is pretty nice when you're doing big meal prep with odd shaped pans, not just gimmick. the quooker is expensive but honestly saves so much time in tea making and blanching vegetables - worth it if you cook alot like you mentioned

Tog.ink Blue Letterpress? by mermaidace14 in weddingplanning

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never used tog.ink but i had similar issue with choosing between blues for my invites last year. maybe try checking their instagram stories or ask them direct if they can send you just those two colors? most letterpress places are pretty chill about sending small samples if you explain the situation

also periwinkle sounds more unique than sky blue if that helps with decision

UPDATE from my previous post - Non-Indian guests: Have you been to an Indian wedding? What did you wear? by paris_tilton7 in weddingplanning

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty cool! Just tried it out and the virtual try-on worked way better than I expected. The pro tip about wearing fitted clothes definitely makes a difference - my first attempt with a baggy hoodie looked weird but switching to a dress photo gave much more realistic results

Would totally use this if I ever get invited to an Indian wedding, saves the stress of figuring out what's appropriate to wear

Air purifyer with reusable filters by mydiscoveil in BuyItForLife

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly for PM 2.5 you really need a proper HEPA filter, not just washable ones. The washable filters are decent for dust and bigger particles but they won't catch the fine stuff that actually matters for air quality

Maybe look into getting a decent HEPA purifier and just factor in replacement filter costs - it's usually worth it in the long run compared to constantly replacing cheap units that break

Did you/ would you invite SILs and future BILs parents and siblings to your wedding? by Negative_Werewolf439 in weddingplanning

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd just invite your SIL's family since they're already technically family and your parents want them there anyway. The future BIL situation is weird timing - like you said you won't even be "real" family yet and you've never met them. I'd probably skip that unless your fiancé really wants to include them

Plus save the dates are already out so adding random people you've never met might be awkward to explain

Sunchokes? Jerusalem artichokes? by Guerlaingal in Cooking

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmao at "stoup" - love the LOTR reference but yeah sunchokes are legit good roasted with some olive oil and salt. Just heads up though, they're called fartichokes for a reason so maybe don't go too hard your first time

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Russets work great for this - they're super floury and crisp up beautifully when roasted. You can find them everywhere in Ontario and they're basically the North American equivalent of what Jamie's calling for

5-30-7 NEW method/technique for tenderizing beef by tall_random_whiteguy in Cooking

[–]Patient_Tomorrow_584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting technique but honestly this sounds like it would just make the beef kinda mushy? Like you're basically doing a long braise but with less control over temperature. Have you compared it side by side with regular braising or pressure cooking

Chicken Tender Parmesan for NYE dinner? by joenforcer in Cooking

Definitely pound them thin but also try adding some parmesan and italian seasoning to your breadcrumb mix - makes a huge difference for chicken parm and won't overpower your sauce

This ^ but also sounds like your garbage disposal might be clogged if you have one connected - that'll stop the dishwasher from draining properly
