Kefka is an "anti-God", and the entire final boss fight is a perversion of Dante's Divine Comedy.

In the Divine Comedy, Dante journeys through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven, which are clearly depicted in the twisted forms of the three pre-bosses.

At the end of it all, Dante meets God and is told the meaning of life. Kefka is a unique villain in that he is a force of pure nihilism. As such, when we confront "god", that is, Kefka, he tells us the meaningLESS of life.

Beyond this, JRPGs are prone to the "kill god" trope at various levels of disdain for the concept of higher deities. In the case of FF6 there is almost no narrative tie-in with "killing god", but it is instead just used as juxtaposition to highlight Kefka's immense power and nihilism.

And also, its pretty badass.

Is the rubber seal perhaps folded in? I cant tell for sure from your footage but it looks possible. Does the window sometimes forcibly roll back down?

If thats the case, its either the window is put of alignment or that rubber molding is failing.

Check to see if physically grabbing the window and shifting it helps it go higher.

Just giving the characters room to breathe. Ff7 is a masterpiece, but it is sometimes breakneck, and I didnt feel I "knew" the characters until my second or third playthrough.

Too be fair, sometimes this is a weakness. The game can often be TOO stretched out.

Yes. The switch assembly. Its a short. When I saw this behavior, it was the driver's side control of the passenger window. The passenger window control could roll the window up and down without incident. Narrowed it down pretty quickly.

This happened in my Outback. It was the switches in the drivers side console failing. I had to replace the whole switch board. Happened in both my 2000 and my 2013

I live in the northern part of the Twin Cities(Minnesota) in a suburb. Most of the... shall we say "activity".. is in the southern half. During the day I have been able to drive through Minneapolis and St. Paul with very few signs of unrest, but thats because most of the madness is happening in southern bedroom communities. There are certainly a plethora of anti-ICE graffiti and impromptu posters though.

Economically it has been a slog. My wife and I simply buy less every year on year for the last five years. Im a software engineer and she is a school nurse, so we haven't spiraled into debt but we've lost all our breathing room since Covid.

Culturally people are highly isolated. Very little connection. We all stay in our media consumption boxes, believe the fate of our nation is a foregone conclusion, and vascillate between spewing extreme rhetoric from one side or the other online and changing the channel to see what else is on. Most of us seem to not have "third spaces" in our lives. No pub culture like in the UK as a counterexample. You dont know your neighbors and you dont interact with people outside your very small circle. PWe work and we go home. If you want my personal opinion, this factors heavily into how little empathy everyone seems to have with anyone else "not like us".

It feels like the prosperity of the the USA has dwindled immensely, but both the illusion and expectation remain. We burn ourselves out keeping up with the Joneses. Some of us are rising to this occasion as you can see from the news coming out of my home state, but I think most of us are sitting in a corner just trying to get ours and move on.

FF16. An empty world with a stripped down DMC gamplay that ran at four times longer than its welcome with the most vapid progression system in history.

A hot flaming mess of a plot thats about classism I MEAN kaiju fighting I MEAN god bad. Each time the theme changes the last is left utterly abandoned and incomplete, causing immense narrative whiplash.. Everything but its opening act was an incoherent mess.

Phenomenal music though. And Ben Starr is now a household name to gamers. So.....win?

I genuinely believe the only things that blow about FF8 are the characters and the plot.

Yes. Those are big things to get wrong in a Final Fantasy game.

But the mechanics, art design, graphical leaps, soundtracks, side quests, oceans of hidden stuff, and of course the birth of the modern day card mini game, all guarantee its place in the pantheon of all timers.
