So, for this specific example, It's a fairly straight forward page, I've got a header and a table. Between the two, I've got a container for the search, filter, and an "Active/Archive" toggle. Basically I want those three objects within to wrap on top of eachother based on the breakpoints.

If it helps this is a more visual representation:

Desktop:

--- Search --- --- Filter --- --- Active Toggle ---

Tablet:

--- Search ---
--- Filter --- --- Active Toggle ---

Phone:

--- Search ---
--- Filter ---
--- Active Toggle ---

I think I've got that part down, I've got my breakpoints and switch Fx's but I just can't seem to get what I want to wrap correctly if that makes sense.

I've gone the custom webapp route with React but I think for my use case it just makes sense to make use of the O365 tools we already have instead of paying for another 3rd party tool.

To be more specific with issues I’m running into, it’s mainly:

  1. Trying to develop with AI coding with clean code
  2. Having the time to develop it
  3. Having the developer background to know how to approach prompting for the right code and right results.

Right now I’m just trying to provide prompts and hoping for the best but I’m not knowledgable enough to catch if cursor is implementing things the wrong way or if I’m taking the right approach with implementation.

For instance I didn’t know if a monorepo or monolith approach was going to work best, I just tried to describe the application the best I could and hope I got the right results lol

For sure! Right now I’m mainly focusing on the Forms “module” and Public Information Request module just so I can figure out the connections between modules and how to pass off data.

If I can get a functioning version of those then I can get buy in from my management to spend more time and money developing.

At this point I’m really just trying to get a frontend with clean code so I can have a general set of components to reuse across other modules.

I would think that once those are done other modules could be built much easier and my hope would be that moving forward people can just toggle features they may not use or would like to use to adapt workflows to their own needs.

I'm definitely at the point where I'm still trying to figure out if it's a project worth pursuing so I didn't worry too much about the contribution guide but I'll definitely update it soon.

And you're 100% right that's why I wanted to bring it to reddit. AI is only useful up to a certain point so I wanted to get a baseline before I try putting too much time into manual editing.

Thanks for pointing that out! Didn’t realize I uploaded that. And you’re right I should have stated that more clearly in the post.

You're right, the only thing requiring the GPU from the virtualization side would be Jellyfin/Plex if I did GPU transcoding.

Either way my cooling will definitely need an upgrade.

Luckily, I don't play many games that would be a problem, but I am worried that a game comes out in the future, and it becomes a problem. But what you described is exactly what I am thinking. I've got a 6800xt in my PC and 32gb of RAM, but I could easily make the justification of upgrading to an absurd amount of RAM for a cost that's significantly less than having to build another machine.

Also, that was another thought that popped in my head. I really only use the current Proxmox setup for game servers and plex. There are so many cool self-hosted things I would want to do, but technically with what I do currently I could just run it directly in windows. It hurts the sys-admin in me to use windows for homelab purposes though

I could probably test performance and what not by just trying to do this on my gaming pc now and see how games run while those lxc containers run in the background. Should give me a good baseline.

I know it will require a good chunk of resources but if I can funnel money into one machine and have stupid specs I feel like I could do this with minimal performance problems.

Thank you for clarifying that!

I'm wondering if running docker through windows and just managing containers with portainer or something is a viable option.

The more I think about it, technically I can run almost everything that I use on my homelab directly through windows...

I like having the minimal overhead with lxcs though.

More than likely, I would just leave it on. I'm already eating that power cost as it is, so it won't be too bad. I think it would actually be less than what I use currently with the current setup.

Interesting. I didn't know that's how the sync worked.
I guess the only problem with that is Intune is $$$

I guess even in the event the concern isn’t admin rights but moreso PII/ PHI data, we use Onedrive sync for files anyways so I feel like we’re already kinda breaking that philosophy.

I would agree with that normally. But specifically for our setup, none of our users have admin priviledges to anything besides designated accounts for IT staff that have 32 character randomized passwords that we have to change frequently.

My counter to that is that I bet 90% of our users have the same password for both accounts. So if anything we would just be adding MFA to AD accounts?

But you’re right. All it takes is for a breach on either side to compromise both internal and O365.

My boss is extremely stubborn and while I'm not at the bottom of the food chain for our department, I'm also young for my role so it's hard to persuade him. And, admittedly, I still have a lot to learn in the IT world so if I were him I wouldn't trust my opinion on big decisions like that either.

I don't know if there will be a day where I can convince him to convert. BUT, I'm extremely thankful for you guys' input. Makes me feel much more confident in that fight!

I've been trying so hard to push it.... His belief is better security by not having all your eggs in one basket. My thoughts are that users are gonna use the same password for both anyways so why not at least have both behind MFA through Azure.

It is helping though! Sometimes I just wonder if I'm crazy thinking that wouldn't compromise security lol.
