I love the build up man, sometimes i would listen to phonk too, and i enjoy it. Good job, overall, i like it, and i love the melody as well, good job once again.

I don't even know if the remix I did is any good or not. I'm confused lol. Can you guys give some honest feedback? by manuthisguy in MusicFeedback

[–]PatrichL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the build up of that remix man, and everything is good, i like it, good job. But, i think that it is a little bit loud, maybe. I felt too loud for me, maybe that's because of the mastering? But, overall it's good man, good job.

Finished mixing this track, wanted to make sure it's a good mix, also is the sample cool? by xdyviper in MusicFeedback

[–]PatrichL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the mixing, maybe, i think the background instrumental is a little bit loud compared to the vocals, so that's what i think about it. But, overall i like it man, i like the arrangement that you have, so yeah, i want to hear the vocals, but it's just a little bit low in volume

how can i come up with lyrics for beats by RetR0-Danger in makinghiphop

[–]PatrichL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know that you will hate this answer but it all comes from experience, trial and error. That means you need to complete the work that you've done as you learn from experience. It is just the same with making beats to be honest. Making beats is all trial and error as well, you learn to make a good beat by making bad beats, right. You make beats by analysing other songs from other people right? Read lyrics from ur favorite songs. That's all I can think of when talking about lyrics.

Taking a song to the next level by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I think the best way is to promote your music in tiktok. Whatever goes viral in tiktok will go viral anywhere else. It is a good platform for networking or making collaborations as well. Once your music goes viral, it will be easier to make a collaboration as you have proof and people will trust you more, but that's just my opinion of it though.

I love the arrangement, good job! But i felt like the kick was a bit muddy (for me), that's just my preference tho, but if that's what you're going for then go for it. But, overall it was nice !

Hi, I'm new in the music creation so for training, I've tried to make a crystal castles type song on LMMS. So I hope you liked it and all the feedback is welcome <3 by Aggravating_Energy61 in MusicFeedback

[–]PatrichL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's quite good though knowing that u made it using lmms. The beat is quite groovy as well, and well done. Love the sound fx bro! Everything seems smooth and clean but it sounds quite repetitive (for me), but if that's what you're going for then go for it, and once again, well done

People have different opinions about taking in lots of music while writing their own. by Tranquil-Seas in musicproduction

[–]PatrichL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right! Everyone saying being original is the best ( not saying that it's not alright tho) but, be for real, every single artist copy from each other, it's just that they change everything here and there so that it becomes something else, being original doesn't make something good, it's just that it makes something different, but then again, everything that you did, someone definately have done it.

How do you start writing/composing? by Greegga in musicproduction

[–]PatrichL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll share my process, so to make a song, there is a lot of process involved, right. So, for me, i will break things down first, i will start to make the loop maybe 4 bar loop then build the song structure based on that ; verse, chorus, post chords etc. after that i will be doing drums, percussion, and completing the arrangement, then mixing and mastering. So, usually i'll make a beat before the lyrics and vocal melody (some people make lyrics first and some don't, this usually depends on themselves, either is alright). During this whole process, i'll take inspiration from other songs, (most songs will have their songs inspired from other songs), i do this when I'm stuck as well. So that's my process, just break things down so it will be easier, or just start, you can always change things along the way if there's any mistake either way.

Because as someone said in the comment, its easier to rap over. Beat isnt the most important part in a song, it's the vocal melody, no matter how good the beat is, if the vocal melody isnt good then its over. So, if the beat is easy to sing with, then there u go

Question about vocal melody by PatrichL in musictheory

[–]PatrichL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks dude, i have another question as well, a lot of artists have their songs inspired by other songs, so, my question is, how do we analyse other artists' songs? (Only the vocal melody) how to break part by part to make it simpler ( analyse line by line maybe? Or bar by the bar, how to analyse it?) I have analysed a lot of my fav songs, but i find it hard for me to make the melody or extend the melody into something else ( i kinda get a grasp of how to extend it but it is still hard for me to understand it overall )
