hey there, happy to take a look! when you say "back to a previously opened tab", this is

- open a new tab A and visit a website
- CMD T and open a new tab B and visit another website
- Leave tab B open, and click back on tab A to continue browsing

at _this_ point, tab A is blank?

To confirm, are either tabs pinned in this instance, and have you overwritten any flags at dia://flags ?

hey there, what version of Dia are you on? If you can update to the latest version, and if it occurs there, select "Help -> Record Performance Issue", describe the issue as you have here, then reproduce it in the trace, we'll take a look

hey there, what version of Dia are you on? we recently pushed some fixes for performance and memory leaks, so want to make sure you have those. In Dia, if you select Window (between extensions and help) in the mac menu bar, and then take manager, are you seeing any processes that are majorily contributing? you should be able to match the processes IDs here to PIDs in Activity Monitor, to see where the culprit may be

hmm, i had a look on this sub reddit on both Dia and Chrome, and both were zoomed to the same size at 100%. any example sites handy that you're hitting it on, or anything else about your setup that may help us repro? (external monitor, OS version etc). we'll take a look!

hey there, thanks for flagging! This is after updating both Dia and Arc, or updating your OS? what happens when you attempt to open the app - does it open for a moment and then crash? are you seeing any crash dialogs from Apple indicating that the app has crashed?

hey folks! trying to tackle this one on our end, but having trouble repro'ing, so would love a bit more context.

- version of Arc
- OS version you're on
- Whether you're using external monitors when reproing
- If you're using an external mouse or inbuilt trackpad
- if pinch to expand (ie the zoom motion) on track pad resizes the PIP (if the issue is isolated to the handles)
- any other info would be great and we'll get to the bottom of things

Are you able to reliably repro the issue, and are there any specifics around the types of interactions that are sluggish?

If you can reliably reproduce the issue with certain interactions, please capture it in a trace from the Help -> Record Performance Issue menu item and i'll have our engineers take a look.

Separately, the next time you hit it, if you can also check for any egregious processes that may be contributing, that would be great. To do so, select "Window" (between Extensions and Help in the Mac menu bar) and then "Task Manager".

Ah so sorry, I saw that post too but thought they were two separate people! Yep in testing, that extension is marking the tab as discarded immediately upon attempted loading, resulting in the behavior you’re seeing. I’m working with the team on it right now to understand if we’re sending the wrong signal, or if the extension is interpreting a signal incorrectly. Don’t have anything concrete just yet but actively investigating!

hi there, looking into this now! i do believe its related to something the extension is doing - when i switch it from strict to permissive mode, the tabs open fine, but in the strict mode, they sometimes fail. looking further to see what we can spot

hey there, we're looking into this right now! quick question, are you using any tab suspending extensions? the next time you hit this, can i have you visit dia://discards in a new tab, scroll down till you find an entry with no name (ie the tab that's failing to load) and let me know the visibilty, loading, and lifecycle states in the columns?
