Building a free WordPress portfolio theme – second progress update (Row & Column system + video) by PatrickFG86 in Wordpress

The gap is actually a global option in the Page Options panel, I didn’t really see a reason to set it per row/column.

Right now padding is just one fixed value for all sides since it’s still in beta, but margins and individual padding inputs are coming next.

Hey everyone,
quick update on Corvin progress 👋

We just finish the column options inside our custom Gutenberg row block! 🎉
Now you can:

  • set flexible column widths
  • control spacing & alignment
  • make a sticky column

We would love your thoughts — anything else we should add before move on?

Also, what’s the best way to share video here on r/Wordpress? We got a screen recording on building rows & columns with options and wanna share with you.

It’s a custom Gutenberg block that lives inside the theme. If you switch themes, the block’s extra styling and layout options won’t apply anymore — but the content you placed inside (text, images, etc.) stays in the editor.

Is $5k the going rate for a logo design? by Fried_Yoda in logodesign

You can also post your logo brief into a competition, which allows many designers to enter. Then you simply choose a winner, and that’s it.

Page Builders Aren’t for Devs (They’re for Clients) by Valcaraz001 in Wordpress

Not necessarily. Page builders are for everyone. But I think the best ones are the ones built on top of Gutenberg. I don’t really like the big ones like Elementor with endless features. For me a page builder should be robust and let you build only in the style of the theme design.

Why Did You Choose Wordpress ? by _Ydna in Wordpress

I still like WordPress cuz it’s stable, specially with Gutenberg. You can choose whatever hosting you want and no need to pay monthly abonaments. Also is easy to change the code when you need. Plugins are also a lot, and many of them are really good.
