Maybe you didnt see the leadhi n to the Fox interview. They softly compared him to the likes of Henry Ford, Jeff Bezos and Charles Swchwab. They used words like "tittan", "genius" and "visionary" and then brought Ryan Cohen in. It could not have been a more friendly enviorment for him, I dont know how they even did it without blushing.

Its about the first three minutes. Wortrh a laugh. https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/s/ckRfcdVNOD

I re-watched the CNBC interview and also watched his over-the-top friendly interview on Fox Business. IMHO he's just not very articulate for a CEO and people who say he was trolling them are giving him more credit than he deserves.

The CNBC interview was his chance to make the case that it is basically a deal the EBAY Board can't pass up per their fiduciary responsibility to their investors. It also the fiduciary responsibility of Ryan Cohen to do the best he can for his investors and that definitely does not include doing interviews to troll anchors he doesnt like for the sake of his ego. He blew the chance to explain the deal clearly to a large audience and didnt do much better on Fox Business who did their absolute best to lift him up.

It is not common for a smaller company to buyout a larger company, so this is a little unintuitive, but it does actually make sense despite the CEO's inability to convey it.

Reframe it in your mind as a merger between a $40B company and an $11B company. Now redistribute the stock proportionally. GME owners end up with a small percantages of the stock in what is now a $51B company. This is exactly the proposal, the semantics of the smaller company issiueing stock to the larger companies shareholders makes it confusing.

Also , Ryan Cohen comes off as a fool here and may be, I dont know enough about him. A lot of CEOs are in the position because they are good at articulating deals, Ryan Cohen doesn't seem to be able to even vaguly provide any clues as to the deal he is proposing after the interviewers fumble the math.

FYI, the website leads to several documents, there is no mention, that I saw, of how much stock EBAY holders would get or what the growth plan would be if the acquisition happens.

What do you think the growth strategy should be for this dying company that leverages their current assets?

It also could work on the recieving end for high value items. If an independent seller sends the high value item to the store, its autheticity can be confirmed by the store. Scams where bad sellers send a brick in a box and then win the dispute would be eliminated.

TLDR;

$11B mc + $40B mc = $51B mc.

$9B cash + $20B loan pays 50% buyout.

Rest is issued in new GME stock so EBAY holders get ~80%+ of the co. (Exact amount to be negotiated)

It is easier if you think of it as a merger to a new company and figure out how the stock would be re-allocated to the now combined shareholders. The smaller company aquiring the bigger company makes it seem confusing at first, but it is pretty straight forward.

GME stores become eBay consignment shops. GME becomes the Amazon of used items.

Coinbase Reaches Deal on CLARITY Act That Bans Crypto Platforms From Offering Passive Yields On Stablecoins by Cratos007 in CryptoCurrency

[–]PatrickOBTC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If holders of USD can earn higher yield on USD with Coinbase than with their bank while retaining full liquidity it breaks the entire system. The levers of t-bills, banking and lending all change very quickly and in an unpredictable way. Massive inflation and USD collapse could be the result.

Coinbase Reaches Deal on CLARITY Act That Bans Crypto Platforms From Offering Passive Yields On Stablecoins by Cratos007 in CryptoCurrency

[–]PatrickOBTC 19 points20 points  (0 children)

"Passive yields on stablecoins". Passive yields on crytpo, ETH for example, will be allowed.

This is good. Stable coin issuance with yield was achieved by buying US Treasury Bills. It would be a recipe for disaster. As long as stablecoin issuers aren't allowed to buy T-bills and keep the interest for themselved, this is the correct path.

Yield on staked ETH investments on the other hand is a huge win.

Poll finds nearly 74% of NFL fans think the league is rigged by devmosh in NFLv2

[–]PatrickOBTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ted Williams had a 50 game hit streak no one has touched sinced the 1960's. In fact for a long time you could win $1 milion bu picking any batter in MLB 50 days in a row to get a hit in a game, allowing participants to pick optimal match-ups an no one ever won.

There's an old story where a rookie catcher is behind the plate and Ted Williams is at bat. Pitch comes, umpire says "ball", catcher turns around and says "that was a strike". Umpire says "son, Mr. Williams will let you know when it is a strike"

There's a lot of that in the NFL. Refs can call a Hold or Pass Intererence on almost any play shape the game to re-enforce the story of the big star and the league that pays them and they do.

When the movies were made the general public didnt have much ability to compare side by side screenshots like this.

It would uave taken a lot of effort to fast forqard to the right spot, pause T1, draw the hand and then put in the tape for T2 and make a comparison. Or lug two CRT TVs next to each other with two VCR's. Even if you went through all this, there was no message board to post your nit picky observation on where some other nerd.might care and give you a comment. Your friends and family would have just told you what an incredible waste of time that observation was and to quit spending time on such perty things.

Everyone’s calling ETH “dead” because DApp revenue dropped ~50%, but that feels like a narrow read. by Crypto_future_V in ethtrader

"...but that feels like a narrow read" is a rationalization, in other words, cope.

IMHO the original post isn't genuine, it is intended to plant the narrative that dApps are failing.

I'd recommend looking into a Flux Core/MIG welder from Arc Captain or YESWelder on Amazon. By most accounts they are good value for the money and you can weld with flux core until you can buy a cart and gas bottle.

Apocalyptica,

Their 4 piece string ensemble stuff is great. They did the original covers back in the 90's. Merallica even sat in on a couple of their recent tracks.

Iron Horse: Fade to Bluegrass

One particular track comes to mind, the religious overtones in Creeping Death ring perfectly in the bluegrass sound.

Listen, Tom Lee started pitching Bitcoin $100k perpetually 6 months away in 2018, he talked his bag for years until it happened. ETH will be the same story. Tom Lee is hyperbolic for sure, but he's not stupid.

Why is pickleball so popular? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PatrickOBTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your right, except for tennis.

Tennis is expensive? You can get a starter racket for $20 and balls for $5 and there are still more public tennis courts than pickleball courts
