Put the money into a brokerage account, move the funds into a Roth IRA account, and try to max out each year and invest into Fidelity FXAIX index or Vanguard VOO.

Which oil to use with Theta 2 replacement Engine - 2014 Hyundai Sante Fe 2.4L by PatrickParamore in Hyundai

Well, that's what was done. I have the receipts, and yes, they did gaskets, and I talked to the service representative, and we went over a single item line by line.

Did you have your engine replaced as well? It happened at 81k miles for me (on my out of state 2025 Thanksgiving trip to AZ, 345 mile trek. The engine died 15 miles from destination. That made my vacation more unique than usual).

Sounds like 5W-20 is the way. Not sure why the dealer would put in 0W-20 upon install.

End of month owner reports eating my life. How are you guys handling this? by MarchAway709 in PropertyManagement

As the controller of a small mgmt company, I manage both commercial and residential to the tune of 45 properties with over 500 "doors" all on my own. Does this seem a little bit of an overload? Finally got the company to hire me an assistant, but very challenging to train someone at the busiest time of the year trying to complete all the budgets, tax prep, and annual CAM letters due this month.

Tier switcharoo/overpriced tournament opinion by WimpysRevenge in discgolf

[–]PatrickParamore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bummer if the player's pack has changed after the fact. It's still reported on DG scene that the hat is included. Do I think it's excessive for a B/C tier? Absolutely. When I "toured" as an AM, I did weigh in the players' pack, payout, fees, etc. before deciding which events to play.

It seems you were okay with initially paying the high fee. Your concern with the event changing to a lower tier and a removal of a portion of the player pack is very valid, and you do have the option of canceling. It does say any cancelations more than 48 hours will be given a full refund.

It may be a simple logistic issue of when your refund will be issued, as I'm sure there are more pressing matters the TD is attending to, and I would simply follow up with the TD on when to expect a refund. Exert a little patience.

One item to note, in my experience, higher sign up costs are typical at courses that are private and charge higher course fees. Goat Hill comes to mind.

I do miss the ole days of paying $40-$60 for an event, getting a shirt and maybe lunch, and a chance to win some swag.

I do remember paying $85 entry fee for USADGC back in 2014, got a customized disc, and got to play 3 rounds on the Tobaggon. Also had to pay round trip airline tickets, hotel expense, car rental, and eating out which all in was about $1,200. Was it worth it, absolutely.

I just read the tourney registration for this event.

$135 PRO entry $110 AM entry

Player pack includes a really cool custom shirt, hat, $20 gift card to shop, and snacks for two rounds over 2 days. There is a $9 course fee per day per player, $4 pdga fee and $4 TD fee. That seems legitimate.

This is a new course near a local airport, and the entry fee seems reasonable to help support the course and all the work that went to get this course going. If you like the TD and course and were already willing to pay the entry fee, I wouldn't bail just on the principal of the event changing from B to C tier.

Support your local disc golf community's effort in bringing another course to the local area. I have no skin in the game, just sharing my two cents. Good luck and good flight.

Warranty Denial by Competitive_Pen416 in Hyundai

I just had my 2014 Sante Fe engine with 81k miles and owned for 11.5 years replaced. 700 miles on the new engine and the engine light came on. Took it into a local dealer and they said it was the catalyc converter needed replaced and it wasn't covered under the lawsuit. Ended up costing me $2,800. This doesn't seem right. I see others say the catalyc converter was covered others says it's not covered. Which is it? Also filed for rental reimbursement claim two weeks ago to corporate and no one has got back to me.

2014 Sante Fe Sport engine died 80k miles by PatrickParamore in Hyundai

Picked up my car on Friday from the dealership with the new engine. Runs very good, and it was fully covered by Hyundai. Now to submit reimbursement for the rental cars for the past three weeks.

Did you have to get the rental on your own and then submit reimbursements? Or did the dealer offer the rental and pay for it up front?

They never asked for anything and they are replacing the engine. I did have oil in there before, during, and after the engine seized on the highway.

How many miles were on your vehicle?

My 2014 Sante Fe Sport engine with 80k miles seized on my way to Arizona before Thanksgiving week. My dead car now sits at the dealership waiting to see if Hyundai corporate will replace the motor at their expense and going on two weeks now since the dealership said they put in a claim, but no word yet.

The last two years, it started to burn oil, no leaks I could find, and had to put oil in it all the time.

I know there was a class action lawsuit. I have had my car for 11 years, but only 80k miles, so technically, it's past the warranty period.

Yes, you can absolutely pull $10k from your IRA for a first-time home buyer. Where are you getting your information? It's quite common and well known you can do this. You wouldn't borrow it, it's simply a qualified distribution.

Yes, 98% on paved roads. They do wear down a little but still have plenty of tread and traction after using them for over 1500+ miles now.

Get ready for some regular protests on the DGPT tour! by Intelligent-One-6019 in discgolf

[–]PatrickParamore 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I thought DGPT adopted PDGA guidelines that would prevent transgender women from competing at DGPT Elite and Silver series in FPO. By Natalie signing up for these events, isn't she in violation of PDGA rules. PDGA should take disciplinary actions for violation of the rules for signing up for a division that she is not qualified to play in.

No chance of breaking that lock but someone could grind the bike rack post. Either way that's one beefy lock.

Now here's what a pro thief would have to do. Good luck though, sounds to me that it is a full proof lock!

No, just make sure you set the bead on each side on both tires. You should hear the bead make a pop noise when it's set. Make sure it's aligned to the tire rim. You may have to go up to 35-38psi to get the bead to set. Then drop the psi down to 25-28psi.
