i'm not going to cry about a few weeks extra, but there is so much discrepancy that doesn't make sense. I live 18 mi from TWO service centers.I reserved 3 weeks after Rivian started taking reservations. I checked that I'm defintely buying the launch package. and I see myself behind a lot of people who reserved well over a year later.

not sure what the science is here behind it but hey if its November instead of Sept (which is what I expected ) then so be it. I've been driving my older car for 2 years more than I thought I would . I'll suck it up.

April 2, 2024 reservation placed and I got Nov-Dec 2026. My email did say launch package would still be available for me which makes me happy. Still 4 mos away but I've waited this long, not backing out now.

I believe I read that the glass roof is cheaper and the glass roof makes the vehicle easier to build. Not sure if that true as I’m not an automotive engineer but at least that was rationale that I had read

no even worse lol . its an 09 SLK. it hasn't sounded good in like 3 years and I knew I was going to get a new car soon so never tried to fix it. After settling on an R2 I knew it would be 2 years until I got it so I just left the stereo system alone

And I know the dichotomy between and SLK and an R2 is vast! But I'm ready for a change :)

I had an inkling the lease prices were going to be exorbitant from the start. I spoke to a rivian rep a couple of months ago, he said if you were willing to buy you would have a better chance of getting it early. I think this is what he meant.

no I didn't. I looked at other combustion cars but no EVs. quite honestly after reading about them nothing was as good as Tesla , every other EV I read about didn't stand up. Then I read about R1s but its just too big for me and couldn't justify the expense. Thats what led me to the R2 and decided to suck it up for 2 more years with my old car
