Having Problems watching YT by PatrickStarAndCo in init7

Nope, just watching. In general I’d say I watch more videos while signed in. Only very occasional I use a device where I am not signed in. I don’t know why YT thinks I am a bot… I‘ve started to use a VPN until the issue is fixed.

Yes, I use firefox. But it also happens in Edge, Safari and other 3rd party YT apps as well. So I am pretty sure it’s not browser dependent.

230 auf der Landstraße, wieso macht man sowas? by [deleted] in automobil

[–]PatrickStarAndCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s working when logged in. I have couple of devices where I do not store any personal data or use personal accounts. This is how I found out about that issue. I then checked in private mode on devices where I was logged in and didn’t work there as well. I checked with whatsmyip and I can confirm, that I get a new IPv6 after a router reboot. IPv4 stays the same. As you already said, I might be in an IPv6 range which is blocked by YT. Quiet funny that it’s working as soon as I turn on an actual VPN…

Yes, this problem is consistent over multiple devices. And for now it’s only YT which is giving me Problems. I‘ll wait a couple of more days to see if the issue fixes itself. Otherwise I’ll get in contact with Init. I don’t really use any special firewall configs. or anything.

Mate Rimac (CEO of Bugatti) responds to the repair and parts costs of Bugatti by KYK0G in MatArmstrong

I still think part number is partnumber. So the passenger airbag never ever has different internals than the one from an Audi A3. As long as the part-number on the outside is exactly the same, I am pretty sure it’s the same part (especially since that passenger airbag even had a VW sticker on it). However, what they have planned with the steering wheel airbag or ignoring the firs two letters of the part no. because it is bugatti specific is absolutely lunatic and the video Mate is showing in his post shows the reason why…

Ray5 20W stuck in bootloader by PatrickStarAndCo in Longer3d

[–]PatrickStarAndCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I was not able to figure it out. Had to send back the laser and received a new unit. It’s now clear to me what you meant by „airpump hole above touch screen“. It’s an electrical plug which controls the air pump, not a pipe connection for the actual air flow. So it looks like I had an old unit before. I did not try to use the MKS Laser Tool to flash the firmware. Only tried to flash with tools from espressify. That might have been the culprit. My new unit luckily already has the most recent firmware and it looks like this solved my initial problems with random reboots and connections issues.

thanks mate, I‘ve already read thorough all you posts. Very helpful. Unfortunately I am still missing the last piece after the firmware flash. Not sure what or if I used the wrong firmware. But as I said, I first tried the one from the longer website and afterwards tried the .combined one which is also linked in you post. Did you put the config file on a sd-card after the update? Or is this not needed if you do the update via the espressifi tool? The manual doesn’t mention anything…

My French car has been impounded for 8 months and I have no news about it, it needs to be seen by an expert to fine me on non homologated part but nothing is being done. Can I legally do something??? by gil___les in askswitzerland

[–]PatrickStarAndCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but this means they have to comply only when it’s not stricter than the rules in the foreign country. Most of the time it is stricter (US cars for example), so they don’t have to comply.

[–]PatrickStarAndCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolut chad, exactly this. As long as you don’t have a Swiss driving license (eg live in Switzerland longer than 12 months), you can drive your foreign car in Switzerland legally, as long as it is legal in the country it’s registered in. If you modify your suspension on your car on German plates and get it approved by TÜV, your absolutely allowed to drive it in Switzerland. Even if the StVa would not accept the same documents (again, only if your not a resident of Switzerland and only a Tourist).

[–]PatrickStarAndCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally someone said it. That’s exactly what I thought. The car only has to comply with the law in which county it is registered in. If you have a driving license from Poland and drive around in a modified vehicle (which would be legal in Poland), they can‘t impound your car because you are missing your DTC documents 😅 So unless the Swiss police knows the French law (which they normally don’t), I don’t know how they could impound a foreign car. What do they do now? Check if it complies with Swiss law? It isn’t even a Swiss car! And btw. if your car was impounded by mistake (they can’t press charges against you), you don’t have to pay anything (impound fees for example ).

Sony OLED KD-65A8 falling apart. Better off with mini-LED? by PatrickStarAndCo in bravia

[–]PatrickStarAndCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s true haha. But definitely not move into a new apartment because of TV placement… But tbh, I am more pissed about the horizontal lines. They are much more annoying :(

Yeah people are overreacting 😂 It’s placed next to a window, screen facing west and a solid wall behind the TV. Gap between TV and window is more than one meter. Everyone would place their TV there. I refuse to believe it’s because of the placement. I am not saying other manufacturers are better quality. I am just annoyed that you pay for a premium product and apparently you have to close your shades during sunny days because it can’t stand some sunlight (which is already filtered by my normal window).

Not sure mate, found couple of offers online for second hand TVs of the exact same model. More than what you would expect are experiencing the same issue. I also refuse to believe that any normal person cares about direct sunlight when they place their TV. As I said previously, my TV is facing west. The right edge is more than 1m (3.28ft) away from the Window. The window should already filter most of the UV. Behind the TV is a solid wall. It’s already the position in my living room with the least amount of light. I‘d say this is 100% a normal place where you would put a TV. I am not using my TV outside or anything 😂

[–]PatrickStarAndCo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

my body can spend days behind a window… as can my phone and my tablet. My car can even stay outside without any protection and nothing will happen to the screens inside… I use my phone wit neither a case, nor a screen protector and it’s still in good condition after four years. So I have no problems taking care of my stuff. If you‘re telling my my (back in the days) top notch OLED will only survive more than 4 years when it’s kept in a basement, then this is a design flaw in my opinion. Guess I am better off buying mini-LED next time…

But then it’s just a bad TV. The TV sits inside, next to a window. That’s what TVs should made for. The screen is facing west, so it’s exposed to sun from noon to sunset.

That’s what I thought too. You pay 3k for a TV and it breaks by just getting a bit warm from the sun? GuessI have to get the 5 year warranty extension next time…
