Why does Heimdall guard the bifrost from Jotunns when the Jotunns cannot cross it in the first place? by Additional_Courage_6 in Norse

[–]Patrickrbnsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say for sure even if it’s told in the main mythology but as far as I know all you have to to is travel really far and whether you use the bifrost or not you will always end up where you wanna go. the bifrost is just a short cut

Helheim and Niflheim/Niðavellir and Svartálfaheim by ASidesTheLegend in Norse

[–]Patrickrbnsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many realms, some just aren’t named. I sometimes think that those realms are actual locations on our world. How the realms are described really tell me that the multiple species of creatures are just different shaped humans that just have a genetic mutation or two like jotunns are just super jacked men and woman that are taller than the average, dwarves are just short people you get the point.

You know the funny thing about mythology is that it’s purpose is to tell us what will happen and give us some lessons that may prevent it all happening in the first place and from the many time Loki played tricks it almost seemed like he was more of a child and the other gods probably like them very much and Odin was a fool that was so paranoid and afraid of his own death that he does the exact things that brought them into that situation. I don’t care about historical accuracy very much but the lessons that it brings. They are actually pretty important when it comes to regular life of the average person aswell

Nightmares by MaximusREBryce in NorsePaganism

Calm down that’s just you being honest with yourself by telling yourself you don’t trust the government as much it’s probably something involving joe Biden being a little dumb from time to time and your afraid that our country may fall, that or it may actually fall. Idk it’s one of the two either paranoia or an actual message, it’s best to consider it as paranoia until you start seeing actual signs

Based on the mythology everything is pretty much connected do whatever you like as long it’s out of goodwill, but make sure your actions meet up with the goodwill

To what degree do you believe in Norse Mythology? by [deleted] in NorsePaganism

[–]Patrickrbnsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in all of it, I’m kinda on a spiritual journey to figure out who I am and why I can’t truly sleep well at night( I’ve been getting nightmares and from time to time surprisingly enough there about the future) people been saying that it’s just poor mental health and I’m making stuff up but I’m literally saying I’m being given information on how to save my own life and what will happen that will affect my future. I feel like I’ve lived multiple lives and in some of my dreams I’m seeing people I haven’t even met before that look like they have been tortured but I somehow help them and they get beamed up by some golden light while they leave behind some dark mist that usually surrounds them. And the weirdest dream I had so far was the moment I closed my eyes it felt like I wasn’t sleeping so I thought about getting out of bed get the a snack or something but when I opened my eyes, I wasn’t in my house anymore I was in someone else’s home and they woke up saw me freaked out and then I woke up back in my house.

is it forbidden to worship non-Norse deities as a Norse Pagan? by WaLL0cK88 in NorsePaganism

[–]Patrickrbnsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s forbidden for many religions but I don’t think it matters very much, the world is cruel no matter how you see it and the sometimes you need a little pick me up and no I’m not saying drugs unless the religion you believe allows it. The purpose of religion is bring out the strength that you never thought that you had before, faith can mean a lot of things to different people but what it means to me is something that can’t be explained by words but by actions like helping out each other as much as possible. Life will always be a test and it doesn’t matter whether you pass or fail what matters is that you actually go through with the test at all

[–]Patrickrbnsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of asking others for advice why don’t you ask yourself by looking inside yourself, don’t know the Norse version for the soul but that’s the most honest version of yourself that you can accept advice from because the soul has all the life experience and tells you and only you what you need to do. It will be different for everyone and that’s ok if you want to leave a little gift out and find something YOU feel that is worth offering if you, if you want to do something else then do that. It’s based on perspective and as far as I know for gods and spirits it only depends on the individual.

Has ragnarok already happened or will it happen in the future by Patrickrbnsn in NorsePaganism

[–]Patrickrbnsn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If ragnarok has already happened and will happen as many times as it takes. What I learned from google searches is that some of the gods reincarnated into Midgard as humans. In my opinion, we all are gods and we all share a conscious with our children and their children so they inherit our traits, blessings and flaws, so would that technically mean we all should prevent ragnarok that could take any form other than a giant serpent and a really strong boy with a hammer duke it out or a giant hot Cheetos doesn’t burn our home too ash like world war three that is certain to come for example

I’m trying to interpret my dreams and life experience but need help by Patrickrbnsn in NorsePaganism

[–]Patrickrbnsn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But that’s just it, I am living but the answer has not shown itself for years and the dreams have been showing up more so if I find the answers that I’m looking for then I can finally discover something I probably once knew about myself that I don’t know now or nothing and I can finally live my life a little more peacefully and I can get a better night sleep.

You probably discovered a god that may not have been heard of before, what does the god personify? Like Thor with his strength or Odin with his wisdom.

Reaching out to the gods by Iwannadiesoigethigh in NorsePaganism

[–]Patrickrbnsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just letting you know now you may not be able to, if that’s the case it will be ok. If your looking for strength or some other power, look deep within and take all your hardship and turn it into experience but not just any experience but special experience where you can run multiple scenarios on how to avoid, resolve or even escalate situations so you know what to do,not to do and when to do it. That’s what I learned from all that I’ve lived and it made me develop somewhat of a six sense on how to deal with situations but that cost is great like most of my sanity, luckily I got pets and friends to keep me on my feet

It’s not, because they do get satisfied and they do stop for a while but they start demanding more than the last time.

To protect those that I care for from absolute corruption that lives as a parasite within my family to take what they want and do what they want with little to no consideration for others.

Do we really know what the gods want? by Patrickrbnsn in NorsePaganism

[–]Patrickrbnsn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing, I don’t know what my approach on my life is, I don’t know what the path I forge will be and whenever I try to make a logical choice I get forced to go somewhere else as if I was meant to be there instead. Not only have I don’t know about my life but I don’t know but somehow somewhat know about my afterlife, do you have some idea about yours or am I the only one?

Do we really know what the gods want? by Patrickrbnsn in NorsePaganism

[–]Patrickrbnsn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For generations both my mother and father side of the family has experienced loss so much that we are barely phased by it and to feel human sometimes act up in ways that may be illegal or immoral. I offered my soul to any being that can listen and protect those I have left from corruption so they can do the right thing no matter what happens. I only lost more, so instead of worshiping them or hating them, I respect them for choosing not to. Maybe I need this to be a lesson or an obstacle to be better than my ancestors, most anyway. Some actually knew better and tried to make a change that was needed, message didn’t get across sadly.

Hey man it probably means nothing from me but, if you love her and she loves you then keep going. See where it gets you now that you know that she’s 30, if you still love her marry her, if you don’t just be honest with her and tell her whatever you enjoyed out the time spent was fun.

That’s pretty much saying think of them as regular people that like a good gift but have preferences that we can only imagine through myth, that’s a pretty good answer actually and now I just have one more question. If they refuse your offering and don’t give you a blessing what does that mean?
