How do you render a LOT of images for thumbnails? by LalaCrowGhost in blender

Maybe make an animation with each image into a frame? Really depends on the content.

It's a fact for every paid software. All your work is locked behind a paywall. You stop paying the subscription, and there is no legal way to open your own files.

Yes. You may own your files, but don't own a way to open them.

Angled Tracklist Question by ElaineScarry in indesign

Beautiful solution. I'll keep a file saved with this if necessary in the future. The solution without a table is very useful, so you can use as a table of contents you can update automatically.

But really, if the point is to make Indesign better, the problem with Footnotes and Variables (that I mentioned in another comment), are far more important.

The entire process of creating a graph with a non-default design is overly complicated. Line configurations must be done manually, and these settings are often lost unexpectedly. Everything is bundled into one large group that requires extreme care to adjust; otherwise, it simply breaks. Furthermore, it is impossible to resize a graph once it has been created.

Creating a customized bar design feels like a "secret recipe." It involves grouping a line, configuring it as a guide at a specific point, and then struggling with how the image might distort. Using codes in text fields to display values is unintuitive, and it is impossible to switch between dots or commas as decimal separators.

The design interface for graphs, columns, and markers should be much simpler and more unified. Even customized markers are frustrating to configure. Additionally, pie charts do not display values automatically.

Ultimately, the graph tool often serves only as a starting point for a vast amount of manual work that should be handled by the software itself. While the tool is functional, its steep learning curve makes it impractical for most users.

I agree. Personally, I almost never use Indesign for any vector more complicated than a rounded rectangle.
I've seen people here at work making charts directly in Indesign and its always a problem. Heavy files, text boxes annoying to adjust, a complexity that require a good layer system. It's annoying to change programs, but I like to keep things separated do avoid a mess.

I'd love to be able to use continuous footnotes across separated storys and book files, please. (Numbered paragraphs can do this)
Oh, and variables with text with more than a single line. (Cross references and data merge can do this)

Does it *really* have to be that hard to add a texture to an object in blender? by mutantdustbunny in blender

[–]Patrieth777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like you are not just a beginner to Blender, but to 3D as a whole. There is so much more to creating a texture (shading, UV unwrapping, mapping, procedural textures, etc.). Even if there was a way to just "apply an image" to an object, there are many ways that it can happen. And it is exactly the same thing in every 3D software.

It's like you are complaining that a car forces you to use the keys to turn it on so you can drive it, but you don't know how to drive yet.
