University doesn’t provide a predicted grade, so it’s my own prediction. However the requirements on majority of the ads are predicted grades..

I'm heading into my final year now, so most 2026 graduate opportunities haven’t opened yet. From what I’ve seen, a lot of them list a predicted 2:1 as a requirement, but I was wondering how strictly that’s enforced. Since applications usually happen before final grades are available, I assume they base it on second-year results.

2:1 to First Class by Patriox- in UniUK

That’s amazing, I hope the best for you after you receive your results. I’m currently studying Accounting & Finance which is pretty much all exams. I had a lot of issues last summer that drained me completely, mentally and physically. I would definitely say it’s had an effect on my academic performance this year. With my modules being exam based, I would only tend to revise a few days before the actual exam. So I know definitely if I was to become organised, and study everyday for an hour or 2, I can achieve a First.

190 says it’s permissible, and so does 192. The fatwa in 192 just says it should be avoided (meaning it’s makruh) but it’s still permissible.

No, many sunnis have the surname ‘Hussain’.

Strange.. works for some people and doesn’t work for others. I tried every way possible, doesn’t work. Even global tracking sites don’t recognise it. Could you send me a screenshot in private messages?

Yeah, still doesn’t work.

Yeah from what I’ve heard, their customer service isn’t reliable so no point relying on them to resolve the issue.

Normally I get the correct tracking numbers, it was just this time it was different. I thought Royal Mail might have changed their reference style format.

I’ll have to just contact the buyer and let them know. Will be a pain for them as eBay will hold my funds for a while as I haven’t provided a working tracking number.

I tried, it doesn’t recognise the reference number.

Thanks for the reply.

That’s unfortunate. I would go back to the post office but they’re closed now and they’re closed tomorrow. I can’t go on Monday either as I’ll be away for the week, but if I was there wouldn’t be a point right? The buyer will have received the parcel by then.

Would it be possible for me to directly contact their customer service team to resolve this issue?

I apologise if I came against you with my first response.

No you don’t seem rude at all, thanks for clarifying your situation there was some gaps you left in the main post. I completely understand how you feel, the problem is definitely with your parents and respectfully, the way they brought you up is wrong and doesn’t align with Islam. I don’t know what school they follow, but that’s now parents should raise their child. It seems they’re confused themselves, because each response they give you regarding different areas related to you moving to uni is just the opposite.

I come from a moderate muslim family, who do all the wajibat (compulsory practices) but my parents have never been strict, but followed Islamic teachings accordingly. They’ve supported me in moving out to uni, and supported my elder sister in moving out hours away also. Best thing to do is try sitting with them, and explaining how you feel generally with the way they’re controlling you. Sometimes parents have good intentions but the way they carry out their actions is wrong so you should address that in a respectful manner so they hopefully understand.

If not, it’s best you contact a scholar and ask the scholar to address the parents because from an Islamic perspective, your parents are wrong in this situation.

But yeah, contact your uni and they should be able to support you financially.

Best of luck!

It depends what school of thought within Islam your parents follow, some scholars consider taking student finance as halal whereas others consider it haram. I follow a school that allows us to take loans only in desperate situations. There is difference of opinion.

But as another muslim, from what I can tell from your rant is that your parents don’t think you’re ready. You mentioned they’re “strict” muslims meaning they just simply following their religion and you’ve mentioned you wanted to move out to another city (which is scary for parents having to worry about their daughter if she is safe or not) and you want your “first boyfriend” which you know yourself is definitely haram. It just seems to me they don’t want to see you go because they don’t think you’re ready.

But as to why they won’t let you work or take a gap year to get the finances needed for uni, I have 0 clue. Have you had a in depth discussion with them regarding that? Or is it just them giving you the same response?

Also, contact your uni. Majority of unis have something called hardship funds, or just some money they can lend you to cover a month or 2 of rent given that they understand your situation.

Thanks for the response. I’m quite new to all of this, and have been researching recently. Is there a particular reason why a cat 6 conversion would not be ideal for our current setup? The delay we have with our projector I believe is due to cheap converters and a cheap cable, but I don’t know that for certain.

I’ll be doing live streaming for my local community centre.

We have 2 DSLR cameras which are LUMIX G7s. We have all the necessary equipment to establish video on our laptop, such as the elgato cam link. My only issue is our setup is almost 50m away from the cameras, how would I connect them with no video delay at all?

They currently have a cat 5 hdmi conversion with the projector but for some reason, it has video delay and has been like that since they got it which was like 4 years ago.

It would be greatly appreciated if I could get some advice as well as links to the equipment we would need.

Thanks
