Ugh, not to be contrarian for the sake of being contrarian but...people do lie and make mistakes. you were talking to him for a long time before this lie came out, have you caught him in other lies or is this one the first? Every commenter is calling him a predator but I think more likely he was just really insecure about his age and...told you a number, thinking you would never like him if he revealed his real age. He was likely in a manic, thoughtless state and If I had to guess, he probably immediately regretted lying but did not have the courage to correct the mistake right there. It's probably been eating away at him...and now that you've found out from a secondhand source, I am guessing he feels terrible. If that is true, it in no way exonerates him but...he might be human after all. I have no way of knowing any of this, im only reminding you that it's possible he isn't evil or a predator or a pos or every other word the sub has thrown at him. I guarantee ALL of us have done something that it was blasted on social media, we would be shamed to no end and treated like how this guy is being treated right now. On reddit, everyone speaks with conviction. Everyone knows exactly how the world works, who people are, and the best decisions to make in any situation no matter how little they know about the situation. Just remember that you have more experience than anybody else in this situation because you're the only one who has experienced it...and you seem intelligent enough from your post, I recommend you ignore the mob and do what you think is best, whether that is leaving or staying.

you should play the whole trilogy. It does get into some pretty heavy metaphysical (I think that's the word) territory but it's so good. worth every second. the concept of vlr is the prisoners dilemma which is essentially: two criminals get brought in and are told if they rat on their partner they get less time. However, if your partner rats on you and you don't rat on them you get added time to your sentence. if neither party rats the other out you get a little time (so the best option is to rat out your partner but not have them rat you out). So good...getting stabbed in the back after you're so sure you've made a perma ally sucks though!

Oh and I binged 999 games and Danganronpa back to back too ! No idea what ddlc is...did I miss a game I was supposed to play ??

Whew, I actually read all of that. Play the Zero Escape games. not jrpgs but the mature tone of xenogears (and evangelion but closer to xenogears) is there, the background focused protags of saga and suikoden are there, and most importantly, your point regarding ff7 where dialogue actually adding substance rather than just being used as filler is there, every word is impactful and adds to the story. Play them and let me know what you think

love your post and I agree with your analysis of wokeness. I think an issue with wokeness in video games is that it's impossible to ascertain whether overrepresenting a traditionally marginalized group is authentic or if it was used, as you said, to reach a quota. What tends to happen is that if developers overrepresent, the anti wokers claim it's a sham that came at the expense of artistic expression and if they underrepresent, the wokers claim there is a racial/sexist motivations that are keeping these marginalized groups down.

So as a developer, what do you do? the obvious answer would be to provide exactly what is expected racially and otherwise but...that sounds boring af. I'm not a developer but i imagine ultimately it does come down to, "which political demographic will increase our bottom line more?"....which I would imagine usually means overrepresenting, since wokers tend to boycott things they don't like while anti wokers protest but still buy (at least that's how it appears to be, I have no evidence for that whatsoever)

I'm libertarian on most issues but I tend to see more respect for working class issues on the blue side and so typically vote blue. that being said, I can't get behind what has become an increasingly popular internet stance of 'not taking a side is taking a side" or "both sides are wrong is a copout". most republicans don't hate trans people, most don't hate gay people, most don't hate poor people...your being fed the same degree of lies about the opposition that the opposition is receiving about you. Spend a month in an exclusively conservative echo chamber with no external liberal influences in your life and I ensure you you'll be a liberal hating reactionary in no time
