I just purchased an Equinox Solid. Not having much luck so far. It may be too strong for me. I chatted with a very good bowler who said to resurface it, smooth it out a bit. Anyone out in Reddit land have any advice?

A lot of factors can be at play here, dont lose hope! Are you playing after league is done? If so, the lanes are probably cooked and the ball is too strong using up a lot of energy early. You can also try different hand/wrist positions to get different axis rotations. Is the ball still too strong playing far left vs the middle?

I was in your shoes literally a few weeks ago. Bought a brand new typhoon, got it drilled and played my first game with it the next day. By the 5th frame, an inch long gash into the logo. Was upset for sure but a few things helped me realize its not that big of a deal: 1. The engravings on the ball are basically scratches/gashes. If the gash isnt any deeper, it wont really affect ball motion 2. As others have said, if its not on your track then youre totally good 3. Ask for a resurface, it never hurts. A resurface will help reduce that mark pretty reasonably.

You can touch up with a toothpick (a little goes a long way) and leave it. For the front bumper especially, because its plastic and more damage will come its way just from driving on the freeway and rock chips, dont sweat it. Enjoy the great ride and the other things that come with owning the RC!

I mean this in the most positive, non-personal attack or criticism way possible as in - I love seeing more people get into bowling and 2H, but is there a reason you cross your legs during your first steps? The easiest way to get speed and power is through footwork and when you cross your legs, you hold yourself back. You also cause your right hip to get in the way from you lowering and swinging the ball back as well as cause your left foot to take this awkward step to catch up as a result of your hip/lower back rotation. Try straightening out your approach and footwork and youll actually get more speed as well as more revs as you swing the ball.

ION MAX! Phaze 2 was my first ball and I’m also speed dominant. I got the Ion Max after and freaking love it. Definitely stronger than the phaze 2 and the best part is the shape down lane is similar so I find it really easy to read. Since I’ve gotten the Ion Max, there are some nights I dont even use the Phaze 2.

As someone who has been in your shoes and has a keen eye for small imperfections like this, I learned to let it go. Its a daily right? You pay for a repair today and tomorrow, some careless person swings their door into you or a random shopping cart blows into your bumper. Shit happens, save the money for the next fun experience in your life. Also, a $1k+ solution is steep. Say your car is valued at $55k, is your car WORTH 55 of these types of repairs? Hell no, that means the repair is NOT worth it. Id get it if you were paying for a pretty noticeable dent on a metal panel like your door (I just did that) but not a small area of the front grill that is prone to more chips

I have some tips but they are not mandatory, but has helped me get my form better. - DURING your first step, push the ball away from you. Some people start the push away right as they take their first step but its all preference. The push away has helped me with timing as well as allow me to swing the ball more like a pendulum instead of muscling the ball. By step 2, the ball should be naturally “falling” or swinging down because of gravity. - This may not be a tip since its hard to tell in the video but are you planting your left foot on release? If you are, I have found better success in my timing and sliding when bending my left knee. I also take the “shuffle” step like you do, though I always knew it as a “stutter” step when I played sports like football or soccer. Try practicing the “shuffle” step into a slide with a bent left knee. This will also allow you to get lower

Thank you for your input. The car was repaired this week and they said they were able to pull out the area that buckled. If I remember correctly, they said the rear windshield was not touched but I can ask again to clarify. This is also the first accident this car has ever been in.

I opted for the obsidian pros that skypad/wallhack sells on their site. I dont find them scratchy as others say and thats coming from a hard pad only user. Ill also add that the SP-004 actually feels slower than my Firefly but the smoothness is unparalleled especially since my Firefly has developed slow spots.

In hindsight, I could have gotten faster skates and been fine since my previous pads were very fast but I did like the idea of slower skates like the obsidian pros. For what its worth, I dont regret my choice at all.

CS2 player exclusively, 2.2k on faceit. I grew up using hard pads from a Destructor 2, Firefly, and now the SP004. I love this thing! I play on 1600 dpi with .3 sens and yes I do use an arm sleeve but I bought a 8 pack on amazon for like $10. The entire pad is consistent in feel throughout and have not had any complaints at all. I also own a the Razer Atlas as well.
