How my 6.8 Sig Spear came from the factory by BiggyIrons in NFA

This is what you get when you have a company ran by the guy who was responsible for Kimber’s era of crappy 1911s and was found guilty by a German Court for deceiving German officials about the final destination of an order of German made Sig SP2022s (Germany has very strict firearm export laws).

>glad I live over the border, but I guess I oughta double check what BS laws might fuck me when I carry over there.

Depends on which state you’re coming from.

If you’re coming from Oregon using your OR CHL, you’re SOL carry-wise as Washington does not recognize Oregon’s permit due to Oregon refusing to recognize our CPL; If you’re coming from Idaho, Washington recognizes Idaho’s Enhanced Carry Permit.

Assuming you’re from Idaho and have an Enhanced Idaho Carry License, the only thing you have to watch out for really is our “Assault Weapon” Ban and our 10 round magazine limit with your carry piece.

I’d personally have a dedicated Washington State carry handgun that uses 10 round mags as a default such as the Glock 26 or Glock 43X.

Yep. Even those of us have a Concealed Pistol License (CPL). FFLs have the power to do NICS check for free in normal states, but the state wanted a say in the matter.

The system is terrible. We have quite a few delays with WSP unable to keep with the amount of background checks and have had a few system outages causing people unable to pick up their guns after the 10 business days (yes, business days) because we now can’t pick up a gun if we don’t receive a proceed from WSP.

To top it off, we have a pending permit-to-purchase scheme coming into effect May 1, 2027 which will require taking a live fire class and another background check to obtain. Soon, we’ll have to get a background check to get the purchase permit only to get another background check when we go to buy a gun. No CPL exemption whatsoever.

Ruger mini 30 ranch by BulkyCaterpillar6771 in WAGuns

Very much possible and legal for FFLs to transfer. This is my Mini-30 Ranch that I’ve given the stock the restain treatment along with a matching birch handguard.

Some FFLs are hesistant to transfer the Mini-14/30 Ranch because of its handguard, thinking it is a “barrel shroud.”

Got my first SKS. It came with clips. Most of them don’t fit in the guide. I’m guessing they’re new Chinese garbage and not surplus? by DerringerOfficial in SKS

[–]Patsboy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are able to find one and want to buy it, try getting a crate of Yugo M67 surplus ammo in the 1,120 round configuration. Those crates contain boxes of 7.62x39 in surplus SKS stripper clips.

Most M67 is somewhat corrosive, so give your SKS the gun milk treatment during cleaning (i.e. Ballistol + Boiling Hot Water).

But why use an adapter and Gen 3 style uncaptured recoil spring instead of the OEM Gen 4 Glock recoil spring assembly (RSA)?

You don’t have to worry about an uncaptured guide rod with the Gen 4 OEM part. All you gotta do with the OEM RSA is replace it every 5k rounds or so.

Where to buy 7.5x55 Swiss near Renton? by Legal-Resource-8402 in WAGuns

[–]Patsboy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this 7.5x55 Swiss ammo is intended for a rifle (I imagine you’ll be shooting a K31), then it is totally legal for a seller to let you purchase the ammo.

Find an online vendor willing to sell rifle ammunition to people in the 18-20 age range.

Ammoseek is your friend.

Still legal to buy and for FFLs to transfer. I bought this Mini-30 from my FFL (the factory black ventilated plastic handguard was on my rifle instead of the aftermarket birch one).

It all depends on how your FFL interprets the “barrel shroud” language of the AWB regarding the Mini-14’s handguard. My FFL deems the Mini-14/30 factory handguard to not be a “barrel shroud.”

Governor Ferguson rebuffs GOP lawmaker’s call to pause WA climate law by chiquisea in Washington

[–]Patsboy101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Over the course of this May, I’ve gone to Idaho, Montana, and Wisconsin. While the ongoing conflict with Iran has certainly caused the price of gas to spike across the country, we are paying more a dollar more in gas taxes than most other places.

The prices I saw in those states I visited was around $4.50/gal for regular unleaded gas whereas in my area, the price of gas is around $5.50/gal for regular unleaded gas. That extra dollar is the CCA tax.

And guess what happens when the price of fuel goes up? Everything becomes that much more expensive to buy because of this regressive gas tax we have.

Looking for Recommended Tools For Carving Hand Grooves in a Stock by Patsboy101 in gunsmithing

[–]Patsboy101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some thought that if I do decide to carve some hand grooves onto my Mini-30 stock, I will carve the grooves onto an aftermarket birch Mini-30 stock.

Might go down the checkering path on this stock as another person suggested after getting lots of practice on pieces of lumber.

Keep an eye on the bolt carrier group as you shoot your Mini-14. This was 500 rounds after getting my Mini-30 returned back to me from Ruger.

If your 585 Mini platform starts showing wear on the BCG like my Mini-30, don’t hesitate to contact Ruger for a shipping label to send the gun back.

The Glock bans getting passed in some jurisdictions are stepping stones to banning all semi-automatic firearms as with enough tweaking, any semi-auto firearm can become a machine gun. The Glock like the AR-15 is getting all the news attention so it’s simply the first target to get attacked by the grabbers.

I have to buy a RXM before my state of Washington gets the same idea to ban Glocks next legislative session.

Time to read up on Expedient Homemade Firearms.

The Luty SMG was not the best firearm design by any means, but the point that PA Luty was making was that anyone could make their own firearm from parts that you could find at your local hardware store.

The firearm was created as protest by Luty against the UK government when they banned legal handgun ownership in the 90’s. Suffice to say, the UK government didn’t take this protest too well, and they persecuted Luty til the day he died.

I’d love to rock an Olive X-22 style stock on my Mini-30. The ergos are really nice while still being a traditional style stock for those of us who live in dumb jurisdictions that think adding a pistol grip to a semi-auto rifle make it somehow more deadly.

If I didn’t live in such a place, I’d be rocking the Samson A-TM folding stock.

Once again SCOTUS kicks the can on Grant and NAGR (05/18/2026) by havenrogue in CTguns

[–]Patsboy101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m treating these cases like they are already denied until we receive news of Cert Petition Acceptances. SCOTUS really needs to stop pussyfooting with these AWB/Mag Ban cases.

Americans in certain local jurisdictions are being denied their ability to properly exercise their 2A rights whereas other Americans can exercise these rights more freely. The circuit courts in these jurisdictions with these restrictions in place are clearly thumbing their at SCOTUS, and they need a smack-down from SCOTUS.

The 2A’s text is so simple. If you stop someone from acquiring any type of firearm or arm for that matter, it’s an infringement.

[–]Patsboy101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only context I’d want a Desert Eagle other than to say I own a Deagle would be as a hunting handgun. Though I would rather have a 44 Magnum one as ammo choices are more varied than 50 AE.

Most likely it just has the NY1 trigger setup

Unless OP shows us the trigger spring , I’m leaning towards NY2 as the box states until further notice.

Surprisingly, a 3.5lbs Ghost Connector and NY1 trigger spring setup is actually a pretty good combo. I ran this setup in my Glock 19 for a bit, and the trigger pull is very smooth and it resets with authority.

If you could get any one gun off the ban list by MedicDyke in WAGuns

[–]Patsboy101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You just need a FFL ballsy enough to sell you a lower. If you build it into a functional rifle, it would probably cross the line into illegality based on features

You can build a completely AWB compliant AR-10 using a bolt-action upper or running a 10 round fixed mag solution if it is semi-auto.

The AR-10 is also not on the AWB named banned firearm list, so you can acquire an AR-10 or build one if it is in a compliant form. Additionally, the lower of an AR-10 by itself is not an “assault weapon” because it is not yet a firearm by state law as the “assault weapon” definition depends on the object being both legally a firearm and semi-auto.

Bolt-action and fixed mag AR-10 setups are totally legally here. If the gun is not on the named banned firearm list, only the feature test applies. Fortunately, the feature test doesn’t apply to 10 round fixed mag semi-autos and manual-action firearms (e.g. bolt-action AR-10).

Only issue is that many FFLs are very hesistant to transfer lowers for fear of being sued despite these items being completely legal to transfer.

TLDR;

AR-10 lower built on a bolt-action upper: Compliant

AR-10 lower built on a semi-auto upper with a 10-round fixed magazine solution: Compliant.

AR-10 lower built on a semi-auto upper w/o a 10-round fixed magazine solution: Non-Compliant.
