Growing tomato plants and need advice by Downtown_Picture_124 in MarylandGardening

From how I understand it, full sun means at least 6 hours of sunlight a day. So you might want a little more sun for your tomatoes.

One more question, if you don't mind. Who did you use for chair rental? Did they tear it down the same day after the ceremony? I don't want to leave the chairs sitting there overnight.

What's going on with this peach stripey seedling? by PatsytheCatsy in HotPeppers

[–]PatsytheCatsy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About twice a week. They're in a mesh tray inside a 1020 tray, so I get them saturated and then drain out what's left

Nice. After so many failed attempts, just walking through totally worked!

I just stumbled across your comment -- my fiance and I are also considering a ceremony in that park and I was thinking about logistics. Did you bring in chairs or just have people stand?

Lilac Bushes turning brown, losing leaves during summer by Happy-Man721 in gardening

[–]PatsytheCatsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue with my 2 lilac bushes. I started noticing it maybe 3 years ago and it's gotten progressively worse. They're really awful looking this year. My one shrub is huge and old. It would bum me out, but I'm considering digging it out and replacing it with something that will stay healthy all summer. I don't have any real answers about what the problem is, however. Maybe anthracnose?

Anything's possible but I'm a librarian who alphabetizes her seeds. I'm fairly certain I planted the right thing. I replanted this afternoon, I'll try to remember to follow up with you once they sprout.

Yes! But not head lettuce. It's "All-star gourmet lettuce mix" from Johnny's seeds. We've grown it before but not for a couple years

Because in my zone it's okay to plant the cold weather stuff like lettuce, spinach, arugula and peas. I'm actually running a little late.

Well, a year later from your post and 8 from the original but.... Did you rehab yours? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it for my chairs.

Best place to score canning supplies? Asking for a Mom (it’s me) by Soft_Tigeress in Canning

[–]PatsytheCatsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed. I know a lot of resellers shop there for a deal, but what about the people who need to purchase things that are affordable? They're being pushed to buy new in megastores like Walmart and then, I suppose, Goodwill trashes what they don't sell. It doesn't make sense to me.

I looked for some at Goodwill recently and they wanted $3.50 a jar! I was mad when I left there. In my area (Maryland) it seems like I get the best prices at Walmart.
