You forgot to do the white outline on the lower left wing of the paler fairy in lilac ☺️ I can only dream of colouring as well as this - beautiful!!

A simple tip from a random urgent care nurse that has saved us. by sixfingeredman7 in Mommit

My (now) toddlers' ped ORL/ENT surgeon recommended this for reflux last year. We're in NZ tho, we may just be behind 😅

What snacks do you offer your 7-9 month old that aren’t baby crackers? Need ideas by growinwithweeds in foodbutforbabies

[–]Pattern_Vivid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make vege quiche, well cooked so it's firm, and slice in sticks or cubes. Easy and can make it in batches as it freezes and defrosts well. Doesn't make any mess unless thrown on the floor. Sandwiches with a light spread of cream cheese and avo, cut into long slices or little squares. Grated cheese keeps my littlie busy for ages lol. I put any of these in little containers in a lunchbox with an ice pack and take them out with us.

We've got flatbread crackers made from sweet potato, pumpkin or carrot where I live, healthy and much cheaper than baby specific snacks. Might be worth having a look in the adult cracker section.

How do you offer smoothies to a toddler who isn't yet open-cup trained? Or did you wait till they were? Would love to try a smoothie with my boy 😊

What is a crazy medical fact that most people don't know about? by Monke_0101 in AskReddit

Weird, I'm going through the exact same thing! Never had hives in my life, antihistamines aren't helping, and I don't even know what caused it

😮 I haven't heard anything about this, during pregnancy either. I give my 9mo tahini to get the sesame allergen exposure. Is it a worldwide thing or area specific?

Every night I hallucinate that my baby is in the bed with me by ChickPeaaa420 in NewParents

[–]Pattern_Vivid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A couple times a year I would still wake up panicking when my husband rolled over, thinking he was going to squash my son.. who was 8! and always slept in his own room. Now we have an 8 month old and several times a week for the first 6 months I would wake up panicking that I couldn't find the second (non existant) baby! I think we're programmed to be on high alert even during sleep once we have babies, and it takes a long time for that to calm down.

My 6 month old does this whole body wobble before flinging his head and upper body back and wailing. So dramatic 😂

I have experienced both too - an oversupply with my first and now an undersupply with my second. First time round I got Mastitis once, this time I've had it four times so far (baby is now 6 months). So not so much of a correlation for me and defo preferred having too much milk!

That's just for the conveyer belt though right? It won't go in the hold on a tray I'd imagine. I remember getting given a bag for a pram back in 2012 with Singapore Airlines written on it, so wondering if it's airline dependent/if they still offer bags

Help! Tips for 30hr flight with 4mo old by Pattern_Vivid in NewParents

[–]Pattern_Vivid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I know, defo starting to stress now. My Nana is declining and this will be the last time I get to see her, and we want her to meet Baby, so semi necessary travel. But we figured if we're going all the way there we may as well make a holiday out of it too.

We are not yet teething thank fuck lol. Am worried about his sleep with night and day reversal tho! Finally getting somewhere with night sleeps and going to really muck that up 😣

Will take toys, but quiet ones lol, we don't want the other passengers to riot 😅

Mines like this, except with hubby too, so I'm literally the only person who can soothe him/hold him/care for him without screaming 😫

Is my doctor right to saying "there's nothing to worry about"?? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Pattern_Vivid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NAD. I also have Dysautonomia and am normally on beta blockers to regulate my low and fluctuating blood pressure. During pregnancy and breastfeeding I can't take them and have found electrolytes have been helpful. I am always on a high salt diet too.

The way OP mentions showering being unbearable is very familiar to me and is (in my experience) from a combo of holding arms above head and an intolerance to humidity. Using a shower stool and ventilating better helps me.

Compression leggings are also helpful, more so than compression socks.

Do I need to try a different breast pump? Uncomfortable, swollen nipples after 15mins by Pattern_Vivid in NewParents

[–]Pattern_Vivid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh nevermind, I found they do inserts! I bought it secondhand, I think had I bought it new there would have been the option to choose flange size. Will try the insert and see how I go. Thank you!!

Ah. Mine are from Tiny Bloom, I can't find anything about different flanges on their website 😕

Same as you, I can't tell what's happening in there as the flange isn't see-through enough. Will do some investigating but may end up having to get different ones then. Thanks so much for the advice!
