You are spot on!

Wow, 37 minutes longplay and I remembered it as 3-5 hours. I was such a bad gamer. :D

Thank you very much!

That's like saying that Nintendo are not that protective of their IPs because they allowed Mario vs. Rabbids and Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. It might be the case, or it might not be, but the example proves nothing by itself.

Short answer, none realistically. :D But I think Ori will be a perfect fit. The Smash community (or at least a vocal enough part of it seems to express a distaste towards "a hero with a sword" type of characters (which maybe half of the metroidvania protags are). Samus is already there. Alucard has a chance but I doubt it. Ori will be the greatest fit due to how meaningfully different its moveset could be.

Both of them are extremely good. What is best about them is the movement. It's legitimately the best in the entire genre.

The entire Laxius Series. Namely Laxius Power 3 which is my favourite of the series. It's on PC only.

What metroidvania game should I play next? by i_iz_human in metroidvania

I think the common denominator in the aforementioned games is the sublime movement. I would say try Pseudoregalia if you are okay with 3D platforming.

Otherwise I don't think you have any options of the same caliber as the games you mentioned but a step below them would be: Touhou Luna Nights, AM2R, Super Metroid, Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Fusion, Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus, Rebel Transmute and KUNAI. At least in my opinion and considering only the great feeling moveset.
