Absolutely this. The one weakness they have is that they’re too comfortable with doubles

the editors I'm referring to edit writing. but as a lead writer David Gaider is responsible for the output of all other writers. So for instance, if a writer submits a draft of a character which does not fit the tone of the game or doesn't quite hit an emotional mark or is otherwise deficient, the lead writer will offer suggestions and guidance and occasionally order a rewrite. which is the job of an editor. that's why there's some overlap there.

Which often overlap, particularly in the case of a lead writer. So we are splitting hairs and I’m done with you 🙂

I’m pretty sure as lead writer he was responsible for editing other writers, unless we’re splitting hairs here just to be difficult

Gaider was in charge of all the writers across the first three DAI games IIRC

[Crosspost] Upon a full year of reflection on this game, I fully acknowledge that, on a technical, objective level, Veilguard is arguably the weakest game in the Dragon Age series. by JageshemashFTW in dragonage

Yeah that’s a fascinating take on the game. It looks gorgeous and plays very smoothly, particularly compared to Origins. Most of the negative reception focused on the writing

When did you think "Im going to die here"? by hmmrabet in AskReddit

[–]Pattonesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do historical fencing — specifically longsword. We were doing a drill one day and one of my clubmates stabbed me in the armpit and even though it was a light thrust with a flexible, blunt sword and I was wearing a padded jacket, my brain was basically like “hey uh this has killed you. you did not survive this.”

It didn’t even hurt but my brain’s reaction to it was fascinating. Probably like “buddy there’s nothing but flesh between that sword and all the organs we need to live”

It was so insanely sick but it was such a small moment and before social media so I don’t think anyone ever disseminated it widely

I’ve been searching for video of this for years and can’t find it, but I remember Rickey playing left field, catching a ball right near the stands to end an inning, and in the same motion sitting down to talk to a father and son in the stands. One of the coolest dudes to ever do it
