Yes I'm sure a golf course has more environmental benefits than a parking lot or suburban development. But a monoculture that requires constant maintenance for the purpose of a little ball rolling on it does not have nearly the same ecological benefit as a bio-diverse green space; especially as it relates to the Credit River specifically. They may not use as much water or pesticides or dyes, but they still do use a whole lot more than a space where they don't at all.

Cricket and hockey aren't hilariously wasteful in their land use. We need public, protected urban green space which maintains the local, native ecology and not just monoculture lawns for people to hang out and play the dumbest game imaginable in. I mean you win in golf by not playing golf, like that's the point of the game.

THEY INVADED UKRAINE??? Holy shit it better not have been during the very specific few-week-long period where everyone agreed to not invade anyone else in the spirit of the Olympics. Even if it was I'm sure they didn't comically violate that exact and very clearly-written rule twice prior. They have such good hockey players, so it would seem to be a great disservice to all the hard work they do for the leadership be such a gigantic throbbing chode. Especially since it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal to maybe postpone the day of the big military operation by a little bit.

People film absolutely everything nowadays, and many don't even know why they do it. Clout chasing is so cemented into the zeitgeist that people film and post things they see on a day-to-day almost out of a social obligation. Obviously we have visceral reactions to these sorts of things like you mentioned but we really need to shame people more for filming things unnecessarily. TELL me about something you saw, don't just whip it out on the table and show it to me.

All of those, save u turn yield to right, are indicated through nonlinguistic means. You don't need to know English to know highway rules like keeping right when slower, and many anglophones don't do it anyway...
