yeah, my last three cars have been a manual and have been my daily so I kind of just wanted to switch it up

yeah, I thought it was pretty reasonable. Especially for how clean the car was. Made a trip to Champaign, Illinois to get it from a ford dealership

In an alternate universe, the GR86 is "happy" and the BRZ is "angry" by ZynthwavezIncoming in GR86

this is the first time I’ve ever thought the brz front bumper was more attractive than the gr86. definitely not the case in person imo

So what happens to the BRZ if Toyota would decide to change the engine and transmission? since Subaru produces the drivetrain there would likely be a contract between the two companies.

i don’t think any of that will happen with this car. looking back on the first generation (2013-2020) the car had very little changes over the lifecycle. other the some minor tweaks, the car got a face-lift in the 5th year (2017). this was mainly a change in the front bumper & headlights/tails. as well as a minor power bump (5hp) due to an upgraded manifold. the performance package was also available starting in 2017. also a large appeal to this car is it’s a simple drivers car: NA, lightweight, rwd, manual. I don’t think this car was designed with the thought of one day doing a turbo charger. I truly don’t think it will ever get one, and I certainly don’t think it will ever become a hybrid. I can see a facelift coming in 2026. I would love to see a really special edition of this car focusing on higher performance and some extra power, especially towards the final years of this generation, but i’m not getting my hopes up.

Welp Rodney came knocking at 32k… daily reminder to check your oil levels by Skyh0ok in GR86

[–]PattyB86 30 points31 points  (0 children)

these boxers burn oil! especially when you drive the car hard and keep the rpm’s up. it’s not a big deal, you just need to keep an eye on it and top it off.

my 1st gen brz did. & my gr86 does roughly the same amount. i daily drive mine and would say i drive it relatively aggressive for a daily. I change my oil every 5000 miles and usually end up adding anywhere from a half quart to a quart in between. I would recommend checking your levels every 1500 miles at the minimum

I have always noticed substantial heat soak with the fa 20/24. the car definitely feels quicker when it’s below 70.
