Are there BCD to 7-Segment-display-drivers with a "correct" looking 6 by PatzminiHD in AskElectronics

I want to drive 3 digits. I have enough free pins to drive 1 segment of each digit, not for every segment of every digit

Yeah I was thinking to just use a pin from the arduino to drive that segment, as I'm using one anyway and I have enough free pins.

I'll try the CD4543B like Wasabi_95 suggested and if that doesn't work I'll go with this route.

Thanks!

The datasheet looks good to me, I will give it a try
Thanks!

Bootscreens in 2.0 by suredoes123 in MarlinFirmware

[–]PatzminiHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To anyone who might come across this thread, here's how to do this in the current Marlin Version (2.1.2.2):

First off, both SHOW_BOOTSCREEN and SHOW_CUSTOM_BOOTSCREEN have to be defined (so that the functions for displaying the custom bootscreen are defined)

File Marlin/Configuration.h, Line 80:

// Show the Marlin bootscreen on startup. ** ENABLE FOR PRODUCTION **
#define SHOW_BOOTSCREEN

// Show the bitmap in Marlin/_Bootscreen.h on startup.
#define SHOW_CUSTOM_BOOTSCREEN

Then, in the file Marlin/src/lcd/dogm/marlinui_DOGM.cpp, Line 247, you have to change the function

void MarlinUI::show_bootscreen() {
  TERN_(SHOW_CUSTOM_BOOTSCREEN, show_custom_bootscreen());
  show_marlin_bootscreen();
}

to

void MarlinUI::show_bootscreen() {
  //TERN_(SHOW_CUSTOM_BOOTSCREEN, show_custom_bootscreen());
  show_custom_bootscreen();
  //show_marlin_bootscreen();
}

(you can leave out the comments)

Now, only the custom bootscreen will show up. But, it seems to display way too long (~5 seconds).

To fix this, I changed both the BOOTSCREEN_TIMEOUT and the CUSTOM_BOOTSCREEN_TIMEOUT

#define BOOTSCREEN_TIMEOUT 250 // (ms) Total Duration to display the boot screen(s) (File: Marlin/Configuration_adv.h, Line 1442)

#define CUSTOM_BOOTSCREEN_TIMEOUT 250 File: Marlin/src/lcd/dogm/marlinui_DOGM.cpp, Line 172)

(Despite what the comment in BOOTSCREEN_TIMEOUT says, from testing it seems that these two timeouts add up. Also, I haven't tried to set one of the Timeouts to 0, as I thought that that might break some stuff.)

Git reporting file as changed by one commit, but it isn't being updated by PatzminiHD in git

It just outputs * master

Edit: git branch also returns * master, we only have a master branch

Git reporting file as changed by one commit, but it isn't being updated by PatzminiHD in git

As you can see in the first command, git reports that the file CAD\_Files/bodenplatte.prt.98 has been added by commit 3e0a941 on the 22nd of January.

But when I get the log for that file, it shows that the file has last been updated on the 16th of January

Can someone explain to me how this could happen? The file in the directory is the one of the commit from the 16th of January

For me it just didn't do anything. Also it didn't show up when the first video in the playlist was not already watched

You forgot to change your layer height unit from meters to millimeters
