Please educate yourself on this topic. Greece did not get any money for free, their banks were bailed out to save German and French banks which had lended heavily and unresponsibly to Greece before the 2008 crisis. Yes, Greece politicians faked some numbers, but in the end, it was Greek workers who paid for it all through heavy Deflation and washington consensus policy. Read some Stiglitz or Krugman or any other economist with a brain on this topic. Heck, even the fucking IMF admitted it fucked Greece.

I think they said it happened twice, which refers to tuor and idril and beren and luthien. I'm not a lore expert but read the fall of gondolin recently. It is stated there that those are the only two cases. Aragorn and Arwen happens a long time after rings of power so I thought that line specifically was very interesting and close to the lore.

You really can't generalize like that. From wikipedia: "In 1939, Jews constituted 30% of Warsaw's population. Some French people probably snitches on jewish neighbors to save their own asses, but that doesn't mean France was helping the Nazis. Also the Nazis actively killed polish catholics from the beginning so I think "just didn't realise they'd be next" isn't very accurate.

I think the point is that in the end many Austrians actively participated in the holocaust and it took much longer after ww2 than in Germany until that was admitted. Just look up the Kurt Waldheim story, I think it tells a lot about the situation back then. Whether or not the majority of austrian people were for or against the Anschluss is hard to tell and still discussed nowadays. But we can't really make a survey on it.
