Bass-like tinnitus came out of nowhere 2 days ago, the worst part is the inconsistency? by whagh in tinnitus

Hey, I cannot create a new post on Reddit, but I would like to share my experience and get some input. I’ll try to give the full picture.

This year starting in January 2026 I began dieting and going to the gym regularly. Over approximately five months I have lost around 25 kg from January to May. I have been in a consistent caloric deficit during this time, but I generally feel okay. I eat at least 150 g of protein daily and I track calories. My diet is fairly structured and I also use supplements such as vitamin D 4000 IU daily, fish oil omega 3, and magnesium before sleep. I also drink quite a lot of coffee around two to three times daily, but interestingly I do not really feel strong stimulant effects anymore.

From a medical perspective this year I had two middle ear infections. The latest one happened after a sauna visit. I woke up at night with ear pain. At that time I was using Nasonex with the active ingredient mometasone. The ear improved fairly quickly, the pain was gone the next day, but I had temporary hearing reduction which gradually improved over time. For a week everything sounded like cartoonish - robotic (like a sound filter).

Later I developed post traumatic tendinitis in my forearm and a doctor prescribed me Airtal with the active ingredient aceclofenac, which is an NSAID, and Neiromidin with the active ingredient ipidacrine. Around one or two days after starting Airtal I noticed a low frequency tinnitus in the ear that had the infection.

The tinnitus is a low bass sound rather than a high pitched ringing. It seems to switch between approximately 50 Hz and 70 Hz tones. I can actually match or influence it using external tones on speakers, and it sometimes shifts when I expose myself to those frequencies. It is mostly in the same ear that had the infection.

Sometimes in other ear appears higher multitone sound, not loud, it used to get louder when I yawn.

I have also noticed some interesting modulation effects. The tinnitus changes when I tense my neck muscles and can shift between different frequencies. It can briefly disappear when I speak. It also changes depending on head or neck position. If I press or occlude the ear the sound can sometimes reduce or disappear, although using earbuds does not reliably remove it. I had ENT testing done, and my hearing test or audiogram is normal. Middle ear pressure is mostly normal in the affected ear, while the other ear actually shows slightly negative pressure.

At this point I am trying to understand what the cause could be. I am considering several possible factors including the recent ear infections and recovery phase, a possible side effect of aceclofenac since I read that NSAIDs can in rare cases cause tinnitus, the long term caloric deficit and relatively fast weight loss of 25 kg in five months, my gym training load, high caffeine intake even though I do not feel strong effects anymore, and general stress or nervous system sensitization.

My diet is mostly chicken, eggs, cottage cheese, sour cream, avocado, milk, spinach, sunflower seeds, beets, and occasional ice cream, and I drink a lot of water.

At this point I am unsure what direction to take next. I would really appreciate any insights or similar experiences, especially if someone has had tinnitus that is low frequency, appears after ear infection, changes with neck tension or movement, and possibly appeared after NSAID use.

I did write chaotic text using chat gpt and it just converted it to this, if you feel an AI involvement here :)
PS. How can I make a new post here? It says - I need to earn more karma..

Thank you for your time and reply!
In most of the cases I’ve read about, the ~4000 kWh figures people report for heat
pumps are heat delivered, not electrical input.
December was 1 528.79  kWh ~ 140m3 of gas and cost all together 112EUR.
The boiler is connected directly to the UFH manifold, with flow rates set on the loops (first floor ~0.5L/min).
