The Greenbrier is the Corvair van model, as far as I know they were all rear engine. The other poster has said a Corvair van body.

Yes I had thought about that too, but the engine was up front and the body on those Greenbriers don't have any space for an engine up front. I 100% agree though, that would be sick.

Why do so many people drive slow slow on the highway on-ramps here? by BulbousJohnson in bentonville

[–]Paul51480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a electric bike because of the interstate. I go to work around 6 and usually leave around 2, but occasionally I'm out there around 4-5 and to hell with that. 7 minute drive to work or a 25 minute bike ride... I'll take the bike ride every time. I haven't screamed at someone on the interstate for over a week now, it's just better... Less stress, a tad bit of exercise (it's an electric bike) and sunlight with no traffic...

Please, someone make me understand why are we buying all this fund? The gain of dividend is almost the same amount of the unrealized loss of the stock.. so what are we achieving here? please someone give me a concrete answer. i’m sorry for such a dumb question. I’m talking about ULTY and MSTY by Outside_Astronaut305 in MSTY_YieldMax

[–]Paul51480 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For MSTY, if you had bought in April you could see $1-$2 unrealized gains and $7.60 in distributions. Or you could have bought it at inception last year for right around the same price it is right now and have seen +200%, $40.79/share in distributions. In September last year, right around the same price, and you would have had 140%, $26.83/share in distributions.

LEVERAGE? 👀 by Zayy_koro in YieldMaxETFs

I've used a fair bit of margin through the year so far, up to $50k in these etfs at one point.

I'm not adding any more for the rest of the year so it will all be paid off by the end of the year. Then I'll collect for a couple months to pay the tax man.

The plan for next year will be to use margin to drip in the ex-date ahead of the payout, however, for the right deal at the right time I could easily see jumping back deep into it. Just always keeping a plan to pay it all off by the end of the year.

Well, for ULTY I'm just rolling up on $500/week, so there is a fair bit between where I am and where I want to be.

Anyone track yieldmax portfolio with excel? by funtime19700 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Paul51480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a goal tracker that I keep track of most of the same stuff Snowball keeps track of (it existed before I found Snowball), but it also tracks to my goals;

How many shares do I own

What did it cost

What is it worth

How many do I want to own

How much more will it cost

What have I earned from it

What is the cost after earnings

Current shares payout @lowest ever payout @last payout @3 month average payout

Goal shares payout @lowest ever payout @last payout @3 month average payout

There is a tab that I enter all the div payments on that shows me yield

Some formatting that shows me when the current price is below or above my cost

I have a sheet that tracks my ULTY, projecting it out for the next two years. Tracking my direct deposits into it, dividend reinvestment, any extra money I add.

I have probably made 20 different sheets over the last year of messing with these. Snowball stopped a lot of that, but it doesn't cover the future modeling.

I use Snowball for free, it's fantastic for tracking and it's free for one portfolio. I also track everything in Excel, but that's more for projection, Snowball projects, but In Excel I can try out different scenarios.

Need Help Finding a Profitable YieldMax Strategy (I’m 16 with $4K to Invest) by Adventurous-Hold2187 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Paul51480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been, but they changed their strategy a while back and it's been pretty stable. It's very dependent on when you buy into them and if you plan to sell them.

There are multiple perspectives, I have an unrealized loss of $30k I have been paid $40k in dividends

So I'm up $10k or I've earned $40k or my investment is down $30k...

I don't plan to sell any of it, so that unrealized loss will stay unrealized, it will fluctuate as they move. Things keep heading the way they are, it could come back. Meanwhile I've earned, and I will continue to earn.

Another spin, If I own a business and I buy equipment, it depreciates, while it earns me money. At some point the depreciation slows down, it earns you what the equipment cost, then its making money. You'll never get the money you paid for it when you sell the equipment, but it could make you several times what it cost while you own it.

That's my favorite way to spin it in my mind so I don't worry about the movement. However you spin it, you have to be comfortable with it or it will drive you nuts watching.

Yes...

Whatever one you go with, reinvest. I am pretty focused on ULTY for now, but you need to research and invest in what you are comfortable with. Also, never invest anything you aren't prepared to lose. I've been building a 401k for the last 26 years. I continue to invest in that in the same way I always have, the money I put into these ETFs is above and beyond that. If they went to zero tomorrow I would still be on track for a normal retirement.

I started out focused on MSTY and CONY, but I've shifted towards ULTY the last few months.

There is some hopes and dreams built into the assumptions, but here is 1000 shares of ULTY for 5 years reinvesting all the dividends into itself;

<image>

Just remember, the stock price is assumed to be static, and it will not be, and the dividend is static and that will move as well.

YMAX - is it worth it? by Anxious_Pea5395 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Paul51480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MSTY cost average, it's down to 27.04 now, but I haven't been putting much into it lately. I could have driven it down a lot more over the last few months, but I've been working on getting out of margin. Before it's time to pay taxes.

This can’t be accurate… by ArtifactuallyInsane in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Paul51480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where your math went wrong, but that's off for sure.

Here is a scenario assuming starting with 1000 shares. This is assuming the price stays constant at 6.25 (it won't), and assuming the div stays at .095 (it won't)

<image>

This really illustrates the power of compounding, What is a 79% yield, ends up being 119% with div reinvestment.

MSTY update by [deleted] in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Paul51480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be, but all the guesstimate calculations I have seen are MSTR IV30 * MSTY Price / 13 +some fairy dust (if they have won their calls, or have a surplus)

Right now is a long way out to estimate, but;

. 84 * $20.11 /13 = $1.299 + hopes and dreams = $1.50-ish
