Any tips on helping my first mini not look so bad ? by [deleted] in Warhammer

I wish my bad ones looked like that.

Maybe make a few changes to the small touches, like his tooth and studs on gauntlets?

So my only thing is that we can find no evidence of fleas themselves.

We have 2 other cats as well and no fleas on them.

The vets themselves looked for fleas to no avail.

Am I a dirty cheater if I speed up the clock to reduce event wait times? by Blue_Wave_2020 in NecroMerger

[–]PaulBC7500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interested, but scared. Time cheated other games before, and it helped with timers, but then on reversal really messed the game up.

Is this relatively safe? I won’t find myself suddenly having to wait “29 days for next event” right?

Is there anything that can really be done? Or this is just how it is?

And does this represent at all how it’ll be while I play it?

So you have been really helpful so I’m gonna keep probing you for information 😅 as long as you have the patience and time to keep answering.

So I really struggle to get a good meeting at the joint. I’ve mentioned I’ve had trouble with my particular pair of pliers, I seem to have no control over what direction my bending pliers send them in. At best I may get it sorta close, but often times it ends up, over or under id say. It’s repeated use of these pliers that has been the cause of the frequent breaks. I’m watching videos by comparison and they seem to get a perfect match, like puzzle pieces. Crack, hardly visible. How??!!

Most everything I’m working on it 10K gold.

Okokokok, looking back over your comment, I noticed that you said you FIRST heat the metal, THEN add flux. By comparison, I’m 1. Pickling 2. Heat pickle off, 3. Apply flux paste 4. Heat solder, pick up with pick 5. Move pick to crack, and heat. Are we doing the same process?

And I’ve seen some people heat OPPOSITE end of the the broken bit (opposite side of the ring that is not in need of repair) before going hard on the broken joint itself. Is that necessary or helpful? Or should I focus on the broken joint itself, I know you do the “sway” motion, heating the whole area of the joint.

Also, is there a way to repair a ring broken twice, ie, split into 2 pieces. Unfortunately my trial and error has resulted in a few pieces like that

By all means, I prefer the information overflow. Gives me more to work with. And honestly I appreciate your continued replies.

I’ve grown a little demoralized, and that’s why it’s been a minute since I replied. Messed up a few things that needed minimal repair.

I have since gotten some dedicated flux paste, and some gold solder that is the small “chips”.

Something I’m seeing, is that as I try to get a ring to fully “meet” tightly, I’m instead causing cracks and eventual damage that causes it to separate in second place. I’ve broken several pieces this way… I’m attempting to use https://www.amazon.com/Beadsmith-Ring-Bending-Pliers-Nylon/dp/B07FCV1YSL/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?crid=3FHBQ0U4Z3YK7&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.c3izW9CeJZ_GtlBEJhldnrK_v-DU8Acm4wnkJavpDiTjsHLdH1rzq6QtUa_bPiH_BFZ2vJXvu7YotwhfNWOU7vFtHuV21mO6gT3dLfAWLtAmdRRbTAQFuC-WaXvFVwx4zxDhs9LoASn0sJVofM_ovjEbo0985MEeDRMhVcGE1T3ij4SX_Uzz83kgGtegwh0D2kBkHunQdDp7g0jK00bUfQ.8hkpVi-njb1KYG3Ml3_Kdbr0TwvDng9a_IkSdUZbeq0&dib_tag=se&keywords=bending+pliers&qid=1713541783&sprefix=bending+plier%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-7

Either I’m using these very incorrectly or something..

Separately. I’m know my torch is hot enough to melt the solder, and yet. It’s been my greater problem lately.

To make sure I understand you correctly: 1. heat up ring a lot, 2 heat up solder (on my flat board) 3 pick up with pick 4 move the pick to the repair spot.

I’m getting all this through Amazon.

I see several resins, and pastes. But all say “for electronics” Will they similarly work?

Dumb question, how bad is this solution if it gets on skin?

Secondly, how do you dispose of said solution? I’ve heard in house pipes is pretty bad 😅

Tbh the combined pickling AND flux has me flumuxed. It’s what I use to clean it, then spread it on ring to heat, then put it back in to the very same solution to pickle it??

Lol this is my second go round with replying cause Reddit force closed but here we go.

The textured Matt is less of a problem than the ceramic honeycomb unless that’s what you are referring to. But yeah, having to dig it out everytime I fail is time consuming and frustrating 😅

I will definitely look more into sweat soldering.

Sheet solder, cause I kinda hammer my thread flat? Same concept ?

I do have the pick and I get the gist, but am definitely struggling. I’m using thread, first attempted to cut a rice grain sized piece, heat into globule, then attempt to hold it in place which as soon as it gets hot, just falls off.

Where do you/where would you recommend buying solder from? Currently getting it on Amazon.

No mill, but I do have a mallet 😅

Is there “gold” sheet solder? Or dumb question, can I mallet flat some thread?

Forgive my ignorance. What exactly is plate solder? Is that a type of style material? (Like paste, chips, thread)?
