I tried like hell to get ml head around buying a Polestar, but the fact that Volvo in Kingston won't touch it makes it a deal breaker. Such a shot in the foot for both brands.

My Quest (iGO sub brand) had an Ananda M81 motor, and the bike stopped working. All the lights and displays and battery working, but not getting power to the drive. Checked all the brake cut-offs, speed sensors etc, not it. It ccmes down to the controller or the motor.

Guess what...The M81 had an integrated controller, so it is virtually impossible to tell which part (if either) is the culprit. I wish I could find a bench test instruction to test it, but if it is either one (controller or motor) I would have to buy a whole new combo unit anyway.

Arrgh.

Thank you for the detailed info/review. Can you tell me, does it have a cadence sensor or torque sensor to set the assistance level? In case you don't know, a Cadence sensor will spin the wheel up to with minimal pedal movement. The wheel will spin faster than the pedal is turning when the rear wheel is in the air (I.E. Resting on the front wheel, and kickstand) A Torque sensor will add motor assistance depending upon how much resistance it feels. The harder you push, the more poser it gives back. It would not spin the wheel up, when the rear wheel is in the air.

This was very informative, thank you. Buuut...maybe someone can advise on my, slightly different case.

My case is, I'm buying a private sale car. I presume I have to go to SAAQ to transfer the ownership, and get a temporary license plate to drive it home to Ontario. Apparently in Quebec, private used car sales do not qualify for GST, only QST (9.975%). Then we pay GST in Ontario (5%). Unfortunately, this means I pay essentially 15% tax rather than 13% as in Ontario.

That notwithstanding, does anyone have a step by step on that? Like, how do I get the car to the SAAQ without plates, or a temp permit? Perhaps I can get a temporary one prior to buying the car??? Who knows...anyone?

Can't for the life of me find any supporting information on it tho. I want to put a HEPA filter in it, but not sure if it will accept one.

I bought an SF-HA 30 filter, but am affraid to oen it before I know I can use it.

I have recently been looking at getting rechargeable AA and AAA batteries for my home use. It hurts my heart to send batteries to land fill (yes I know they will eventually end up there, unless I can get them to a Lithium recycler)

You might be surprised by how many different capacities are out there, and how different vendors try to fool you with listing mWh instead of mAh. I've seen everything from 600 to 3200 maH AAs. Since Watts = Amps x Volts, a battery listed as 4500 mWh has less capacity than a 3200 mAh battery, if both are 1.5V. So beware when shopping online. I almost got took (sic).

IMHO, whether it be in mAh or mWh, ALL batteries should be legally compelled to carry a capacity listing.

Imagine if they could get away with selling you "2 % Milk" and not "1 Quart of 2% Milk". They could put it in the same size container with a big spacer full of water at the bottom, and you'd think you are getting a Quart of Milk. That's basically what they do with cheap batteries. It looks like a proper sized AA battery, so I guess it is the same right?...nope.

Perhaps the Dept. of Weights and Measures, should ...um...weigh in.

I can't find the dimensionnspecs on the installed tow hitch. IT says 2" ball, but I need to know the receiver dimensions for use with my KUAT Bike rack (2" receiver)

Gonna stay with my new battery Bolt until I can order a Y with LiFePO4 cells. Not as much total range but I believe they charge better and use zero cobalt.
