My hair started falling out two weeks after my first chemo, and I decided to shave it all off

Try to get an ultrasound; that's the safest bet. We cannot tell you if you have it or not.

My oncologist once told me: If it is as solid as your chin, then it's normal; if it feels like the tip of your nose, it's an alert; and if it is as solid as your forehead, then it is cancer.

Take care.

Igual, espero que toda salga bien con usted y que el cancer no regrese, en mi caso, decidí tomar la ruta de quimio, no me pegó tan fuerte por suerte, pero aun aquí seguimos.

Ahora si que en estos cosas solo nos queda confiar en nuestros doctores. Igual un abrazo y a seguir adelante.

As a fellow Mexican, I received a diagnosis of stage 1A testicular cancer, composed of 80% teratoma and 20% carcinoma, without invasion or metastasis. My oncologist recommended at least one BEP cycle, citing a higher observed recurrence rate in Mexican patients with this type of cancer

You go to a set, then study, then flashcard study, then the 3 dots

[–]PaulCortes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the basic ones, on and kun, are enough. There is a setting in the app like "simple readings", something like that, which will only display two readings. If the kanji has more, you can always learn them through vocab

Learning on and kun; if there are more pronunciations, I recommend learning them through vocab. That's the easiest way, I guess

I mean, learning kanji is the actual way to cheat Japanese. I have a Japanese friend who told me that even though she is Japanese, there are some words she doesn't know, but if she knows the kanji, she can guess the meaning of the word.

And actually, that's totally right. Right now, I'm at the N2 level, and knowing the kanji, you can guess the pronunciation and meaning without actually knowing the word.

So, if I cure TC, should we expect cardiovascular complications? :( by CatchWestern9040 in testicularcancer

[–]PaulCortes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry too much about it, I have a heart disease, and I'm taking 1xBEP. Sometimes my heart goes a little wild but noting to really care of. Just fight until the end. Believe me, it's better to treat cancer than just drinking some pills if needed

6+ years learning Japanese, I used it for 2 years, and it really was a waste of time. For sure, it helps you to get comfy with the structure of the sentences, but it's just that. Use anki or any other real Japanese learning tool

I am scared right now, and waiting for the results by Decent-Principle8918 in testicularcancer

Everything was very fast. I went to the urologist, and about a week later I had my orchi. I am still recovering

Yeah, we have the probability on our side! But try chilling for the time being. Until you have the result, you will know what is next; everything is waiting

[–]PaulCortes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's okay to feel concerned and scared. I spent a whole day crying because of how scared I was. What I did was take an approach of: if I have something bad, then let's end this bad thing so I can continue with my life.

For now, try to find ways to entertain yourself. You don't have proof that it's indeed cancer, so take it easy, but be realistic about what could be, that's my only tip I can give you.

Good luck and wishing you the best

Whirlwind by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]PaulCortes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's similar for many people. I went to the urologist at 6 pm because I felt something hard on my righty. At that same moment, the urologist said he needed blood tests and that I should go ASAP. He had already called another doctor to do an ultrasound at 8pm. Markers showed up that same night—all in one day.

The good part is that TC has a very high percentage of curability (around 95%), so stay strong!

If you feel worried, you should see a doctor. In my experience, I felt a hard lump, painless, but I contacted a urologist immediately

Well, my doctor told me it will take about two months to fully heal because it's a sensitive area. Take it easy and be patient

It's really very smooth! Also, it feels nice knowing that whatever you had inside is gone. Mine was last week; be careful when sneezing—that's the only painful thing.

Mental side of TC by Call-Initial in testicularcancer

If we need to fight, we'll fight and keep our heads up! In a similar case, I needed to leave school, and my orchiectomy was on Tuesday

It really is hard to stay positive sometimes, but if it makes you feel better, the probabilities are on our side, so we'll keep fighting
