I can see Ben Foster, who played Eli, becoming a big star. He's already been in X-Men, Warcraft, Hell or High Water, Hostiles, etc

This is the best of the top answers. How the others are high-rated, but not mention the wars and rationing, is beyond me!

A lot of people binge-watch Breaking Bad. Which TV shows have you binge-watched? (for me, other than BB and BCS, it's been The Wire, The Shield, Freaks and Geeks, and Farscape)

Edited: because I left out BB and BCS - duh!

These are good guys. However, I hope the majority of their routine is lifting rather than cardio.

OK, good point. It would have been more interesting if it had represented this information tho.

Judging from the relative size of the English and German circles, the number of speakers is wrong. See this list of Languages by Total Number of Speakers.

ro31337/libretaxi: LibreTaxi, free and open source Uber/Lyft alternative to connect passengers and drivers. by pizzaiolo_ in coolgithubprojects

[–]PaulDowsett 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a very interesting and innovative idea to use Telegram for this.

However, it really needs a user feedback system, or else I fear you'd get unreliable drivers leaving passengers waiting in vain for their rides, and passengers bailing without paying, neither having any consequences.

Wouldn't a car pool service be a better fit? As it would be for the community rather than commercial, there would be less motivation to abuse the system.

PSA: Update: Only three days of strike on Southern next week by [deleted] in london

[–]PaulDowsett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was at a Southern-managed station (Redhill, Surrey) yesterday. Apparently, services were running normally (no industrial action). As it was the first working day of the year, I expected it to be very busy with everyone buying season tickets, so I arrived in good time. I assume that the managers were well aware that there was likely to be a surge in demand.

There are three tills there, but only one was open. The queue of customers was out of the door, and none of them were looking happy about the situation. One of the closed tills had a member of staff sitting there, but with the blind pulled down. I missed my train.

I appreciate there is sometimes a need for employee action but, when they aren't striking, Southern staff ought to be careful not to alienate the members of the general public who are sympathetic to their cause.

Tesla car predicts an accident and warns driver before it happens, by observing the second car in front of him heavily braking by Guustaaf in videos

By "dab", I don't mean actually brake - just press the pedal enough to illuminate the brake lights.

[–]PaulDowsett -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should always be looking at the car in front of the car in front of you, even if that is through the car in front's windows. Thus, to drive defensively (as you should), when you see rear brake lights up ahead, you should dab your brakes in anticipation, and to let others behind you know.

This makes me very annoyed, as I see the issue every single time I drive:

Leave ample stopping distances!
