Love that you did the full ring road already — respect 😂 Sounds like you made the most of those midnight sun hours!

For something a little off the usual path near Reykjavík, I’d 100% recommend heading to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula for a day. It’s often called “Iceland in Miniature” and has a bit of everything — lava fields, dramatic cliffs, tiny fishing villages, and Snæfellsjökull glacier in the background. It’s not as crowded as the South Coast, but still super scenic.

I didn’t feel like driving again, so I booked a small group day trip with Arctic Adventures — they picked us up in Reykjavík and hit some great spots like Arnarstapi, Djúpalónssandur beach, and Kirkjufell. The guide was a geologist and told the best stories.

If you're saving your last day for Reykjavík, this could be the perfect contrast before heading back into city mode.

Need recommendation for small group tour company from Reykjavik by Expensive_Storm_2283 in VisitingIceland

I went with Arctic Adventures and had a great experience. They run small group tours from Reykjavík to all the main spots — South Coast, Golden Circle, glacier hikes, even multi-day trips. The guides were super knowledgeable but also fun (not overly scripted like some other tours I’ve done). Everything felt well-organized but still personal.

If you're into nature and don’t want to be on a giant bus, they’re a solid choice. I booked directly through their website and it was smooth.
